Could they tell what actually caused all of that damage?

Not really. Basically they said this isn't the first time they've seen it with these transmissions.Could they tell what actually caused all of that damage?
Wow.. that's nasty!Pictures from the shop of the damage.
Indeed. It actually sounded way worse then it felt. Believe it or not, the car was still shifting through gears, even when this was happening. I'm sure if I kept driving it like that, it would have completely failed.Wow.. that's nasty!
Did you have a shift kit or any upgrades to the pan magnets or fluid pipes done at the time?Got the car back today. All is good now! She's strong!
I hate being wrong on my guess but yeah that final drive has seen better days. Wonder if it was from lubrication insufficiency. Did they replace your radiator or at least flow test your end tank cooler?Pictures from the shop of the damage.
Shift kit and upgraded pan magnets were installed on the failed tranny. Both are also done on the rebuild. Battery was disconnected during the whole rebuild.Did you have a shift kit or any upgrades to the pan magnets or fluid pipes done at the time?
A shift kit from a fresh build should keep the 2nd gear frictions from wearing as fast as they do on stock, without requiring a specific throttle regimine to prevent excess wear
Also the TAPs I hope were deleted, because the battery is under your seat if it wasn’t disconnected for 30 minutes or more the old adaptives would be used on your fresh trans which would probably cause it to be overly harsh or seem odd in ways for a long time till the new adaptives overwrite the old
