I love that color. When you feel the depth while standing feet away, it’s a slam dunk.
I personally want a very deep purple, deeper than the Charger plum crazy. Buick had an amethyst that is interesting, we test drove an Envision with that color, and although my wife really liked the color, the power seats were much worse than the TourX. Just lean the seat all the way back, and it creates a horrible bump on your lower back that is sure to cause pain.
GM has some variations as well. I’ve seen purple, green and brown variants that are quite nice. These seem to be limited more to the higher end variants of the vehicles. But 2018 to current has seen a lot of distribution impacts. Starting with tariff and ending with the manpower impacts from COVID. Manufacturers have moved or closed facilities to predict or prevent economic impacts. And suppliers local and global are feeling the manpower. I don’t know Buick or GMs part logistics, but I can tell you that one pigment in my companies paint caused a daisy chain of impact. The metallic paints in particular use metals, even gold, that is sourced from global partners. We have been navigating these impacts better than GM can due to our supplier infrastructure, but it’s taken a massive hit. My personal thought is we are seeing the impact of manufacturing decisions made 3 years ago due to predicted impacts. Don’t hold your breath to expect changes immediately.
I just retired from the tech industry and what I see are companies absolutely hoarding parts and fab time at TSMC. It’s getting brutal out there. Suppliers can easily raise prices everyone will pay. The secondary market where hoarders can sell at top price is really vibrant. Supply chain is just broken.

I voted blue even though I have Rioja Red. I always have loved blue cars but have only ever owned one.

Mazda calls it "Soul Red" for a reason. 😉
Weird bit of trivia - a Miata wearing Soul Red paint weights 13 lbs more than a Miata wearing one of the no-cost paint colors. That's how involved the paint process is.

It is carrying a soul. 🤣

There’s even a video exclusively for their Sour Red Crystal color. Wish I could get the 2 door coupe featured in the video…

Ok. I’m feeling bad about hijacking this thread, but I think we are getting petty awesome info on paints. I loved the last video. Here is a interview that was done with our Andero paints on the PMC lines. Excuse my spelling if it’s wrong. It’s not my forte. But the detailer asks some great questions. The PL does a good job of giving a concise explanation of current OEM painting vs high end. I learned some things.

Sadly, the NSX is discontinued. This is the last year, so last call!!!

I had a 1994 S-10 truck in Radar Blue, which changed colors depending on how much light was available. At night it looked more like a deep, dark blue and during the day it was a deep purple. I loved that color! 1994 was a new model year for S-10 trucks and they had three new colors that year. Seems like GM used to have a lot of nice colors back in the 90’s.

Here’s a couple of different looks of the Radar Blue:

Yes, I’d love a silverado or a Subyukonade in that color
