Radio reverts back to stereo from HK after power cycle.

I had two problems with the radio and nav screen so the dealer replaced with a new unit. Along with the surround sound not staying set, the screen would randomly switch between the information views - as if a ghost was pushing the Info button. It didn't start doing this until the weather got cold and would happen in the first mile or two, then stop. Both problems seem to have been fixed with the new unit. The fm and am radio tone setting does not give an option for surround as mentioned earlier. The dealer said it was because most station signal strengths aren't strong enough. It's a little annoying, but it now stays set with xm, USB and I think with cd and aux inputs also.

Oh yeah, anyone else notice the system auto plays the cd when starting up, even if you had a different source playing last? If you take the disc out, then it stays with whatever you had before. Not a big deal, but annoying. I haven't read to see if this is correct..

Bringing this one back from the dead. Anyone do this update recently? I just bought my car used with 39,000 miles on it and it has this issue. Called my local dealer and they couldn't find any info on this TSB. Said they didn't even find anything in their system that matched that PI#. Trying to find out if this is still covered when the vehicle is out of warranty.

Not exactly recently, but more recently than this thread -- I dealt with this issue about a year ago. I took the service bulletin details to the dealer, they supposedly found and applied the fix, but it didn't fix anything. After a bit of back and forth, they ended up simply pulling the unit and replacing it with an updated one. The car had (naturally!) gone out of warranty a few months before, but they did prorate it, so it ended up costing me about $50 out of pocket. Not exactly the same as what you're being told, but that was my sort-of recent experience.
