Radio reverts back to stereo from HK after power cycle.

After my disk update, I noticed that hk surround was no longer an option for FM stereo (not even the option of "Stereo" was available). If yours is done properly, the same should happen to you. It seems the hk surround is only available on XM, USB, or AUX Input now.

After the update, I was still able to manually adjust to HK surround.

They did the update incorrectly. I had that problem the first time to. You have to make sure to use the part listed on the work order posted to this thread. Once I did that they did the update and all works.

It appears you sir will have a date with one of the Buick csr people here on the board. Get a hold of them and have them fix it. IMO it is BS that the dealer didn't fix the problem and the. To top it off they put it on the work order.

I still having an issue understanding what the issue is? What does the HK sound system do? I have it in my car and I haven't noticed any issues.

Oui, TprGTO contact BCS and they will set it up for you. That's how I got mine done correctly and quickly!

I pm'd Jessica. Not sure exactly what you mean she will set it up considering I have the second appointment already scheduled for next Tuesday.

Well, she will definitely contact the dealer and ask them what is going on. She did that for me, and my dealer had everything resolved (and even said GM Corporate called them).

Good news with a strange result today. The update actually seems to have worked. The HK setting is finally staying. I don't understand at all how yesterday after the update, the radio continued to revert back to the stereo setting numerous times. Fast forward to the following day and the update seems to have worked.

I have the same problem with the surround sound not staying set. The dealer did an update or something, but must not have done it right by what some of you have said.

The other problem that has been developing is the screen will randomly start changing to the nav pan view with the red cross hairs, then to the radio info and satellite info screens. It'll cycle through these randomly, sometimes it'll flash through them a lot of times then stops on its own. I can duplicate what it looks like, but not get it to actually go bonkers on its own.

Can someone please help me...I have the same issue with the radio reverting back to stereo instead of staying in HK Surround. I've had the dealership look at it 3 times and they say that they can't get the disc because the service bulletin I provided them (same one posted in this thread) does not apply to my car...either by vin or issue. I contacted BCS and they've been trying to help me but when they talk to the dealership, they tell her that the radio is working the way it's supposed to. I RARELY listen to anything other than my iPod or XM so the FM justification does not apply. I just want it fixed, why is this so hard?

I'm bringing mine in on the 22nd for this finally. Told the service rep what we've been seeing and the PI # that referred to the disc update. He wasn't too sure and said they download their updates from GM and hadn't heard of getting actual discs. I'll check on him next week and email your service report if I have to..to be continued...
