I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen before......I started my 2012 Verano(non-T) to head home (50 miles away) after work yesterday and when I pulled out of the driveway, my Check Engine Light was one as well as "Reduced Engine Power" and "Service Stabilitrak" messages on my display. I immediately pulled over, shut the car off and restarted it but nothing changed. I started heading to the local dealership down the street to ask them to check it out, but my car wouldn't go over 20-30mph. The service dept. was closed, so I went ahead and disconnected the battery for a minute or 2 then reconnected it. When I started the car, everything seemed to be perfectly fine and I haven't had an issue since, but it still causes a little worrisome curiosity as to what caused it..... Any ideas?

Think I read that on some other gm forums, same thing. Forget which car but was one that uses the stabiltrak system.

Hi mbrockman5,

We’re truly sorry to hear that you’re experiencing these engine concerns in your Verano. We understand it can be difficult to pinpoint the exact cause when you’re experiencing an intermittent concern. However, if you would like to have this diagnosed by your local Buick dealership, we would be happy to assist by reaching out to them on your behalf. To proceed, please send us a private message with your VIN, current mileage, full contact information and preferred dealership. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kindly,

Samantha N

So I've been thinking about it.... I failed to mention that I put in a K&N box filter when I replaced the factory air filter. Do you think that is what caused the issue? It hasn't done it since I disconnected/reconnected the battery.

sounds like dirt on a wheel speed sensor. Are you experiencing any icy or snowy weather which could build up on a sensor?

Ha.... Not in California brother. Lol.

Just playing.... But no, just some rainy weather. There hasn't been very many days with freezing temps this year.... I was thinking that with the new K&N box filter, maybe the computer just needed to be reset for the new volume of airflow? Does that make sense?

So it happened again today... This time I got to the service dept. before the last guy left. I couldn't leave my car, but luckily he had a code reader on him so he went ahead and ran the code and it threw a P00C9 code which is High Pressure Fuel Pump... But what would cause that? Current Mileage is 48,xxx....

I've got a 13 doing the same thing I was told I need to replace the fuel pressure sensor on the fuel rail haven't done it yet but it goes into limp mode for about 5 minutes then acts like nothing happened for a month or 2 been trying to find out how to get to the pressure sensor but can't find anything on it unless I have to take the intake and all that jazz off

Did you ever find it? I'm trying to replace the sensor on mine as well.

My 14 verano just had the “service stability trak” light on.... no loss of engine power or anything like that it drives perfectly fine... I did replace my passenger side front wheel bearing and right after I replaced the bearing the light came on... I went back to clean the speed sensor and no luck... I also haven’t gotten the car aligned yet I wonder if that has anything to do with it... I also read over on the Cruze forum that the negative cable from the battery might have something to do with it, something about not making full contact but who knows... also my speed sensor might be faulty...

2016 Buick verano
I just had a warming light come on last week.
Reduced engine power / stabilitrak
Engine was hopping around like it wanted to stall out. When it finally did stall out my car wouldn’t start back up.
Got my car towed to the dealership to have it looked at. Happy to say I just got my car back today and tho it’s only been a day it is working perfectly!
I don’t know the codes that the computer through but it seemed to be a lot more serious then a lot of things mentioned here.
This is what was mentioned in the repair comments:
No compression on all cylinders, found timing chain sagging, valve rockers loose, intake valves all compressed, found all intake valves bent, valve rockers bent.
Luckily this was all under my warranty!
I don’t know if this information will help anyone here but just wanted to share my experience.

That’s good to hear your probs weren’t anything serious... I also got my car figured out... all I needed was a good alignment... at first I taught it coulda been my speed sensor which I replaced... $20 bucks only oem online so no big deal... but the light didn’t shut off.... then I decided to take it for an alignment and after 10min of driving around the light finally shut off... now it drives perfect... I just took a trip from South TX to Colorado and back and car ran perfectly fine no issues 👍🏻

I just purchased a 2014 buick verano for my daughter from a dealership here in Houston. 2 days after buying the car it started having problems. First thing was the car didnt want to pick up speed. Pressing the pedal only had the car going 10mph and it wouldnt go any faster than that. Second issue was this past Tuesday. She was stranded at Sonics. The car would not go in reverse. The car was able to be shifted in to reverse but the car would not move backwards. So a car that was bought as a graduation present 2 weeks ago has already been in the shop for a week.

We have a 2015 Buick Verano. It was used this morning to help jump my neighbors SUV. Took the vehicle for a 50+ mile drive to go pick my daughters up from their dad and headed back home. Nothing was wrong, until I hit the exit off the highway that I take to get home. Then the car started stalling a bit, I would floor the gas and it wouldn't really move. "Reduced Engine Power" "Service Stabilitrak" and "Check Engine" lights all came on. I managed to baby it enough to get it home, however, any slow down or stop made it more difficult to drive. Power steering is working just fine, but it seems like the power brakes are not working. Nothing else appears to be out of sorts with the car or the way it acts. It's almost like it's not getting fuel, however, I've been informed by a mechanic that it would cause my car to shake violently if that were the case. The car really didn't want to move at all. I shut the car off and waited a couple minutes and restarted it, but nothing improved, in fact, it seemed to have only gotten worse after. It's 100 degrees here, but it's not overheating. Any other ideas?
