Saw my first TourX in the wild today.

Prior to my trip to Atlanta for a month an a half, the only 2 TourXes I’ve seen with my own eyes were ones I was test driving at 2 different dealerships. I’m pretty sure I have the only TourX in my rural area where the nearest small town has 6k people. But ex-coworkers have reported that there’s a white one always parked at a university parking lot in Champaign IL.

My other car is a Chevy Volt, which is rare, but not nearly as rare as these Regals (both TourX and Sportback). I don’t think I’ve seen a Sportback with my own eyes, but I’ve seen cars with the front grill, and I’m not sure in passing whether it’s a Lucerne or Verano.

First “absolutely positive it’s a Sportback” sighting today - a white one heading west on the Main Street in Clinton IL. I’m surprised I spotted one as this town only has about 7200 people. I had just dropped off my TourX for an oil change, infotainment update, fix the squeaky brakes, and have them look at Buick emblem projector. It looks like the rear brakes need new pads, not covered under warrantee. The emblem and infotainment are. I’m surprised that the rears wore first before the fronts, but the service manager said it is more common in these newer models. all of my older cars wore their front pads first.

Alas, no way the Sportback owner could have spotted me as I was driving my Suburban (wife followed me to drop the car off).

Only took 3 years and 8 days for my first successful spotting. Pulled in to my local dealer for oil change/tire rotation service and was surprised to see this in front of me. Check in guy couldn't believe it, and said he rarely sees any at all. Service advisor was unaware they existed before this morning.

Extra points for the cargo boxes!

Pulling in for an oil change last week at the local Buick Dealer.

"Did you buy that here?" :bangtard:

"Yes you sold TWO of them during the model run." (And a couple of dozen Sportbacks.) :vroom:

And they did not even bother to check the records? Oh dear. 😱

I was still sitting in line. You pull up and stay in your car now since Covid. So I pulled up to the door and someone greeted me before even taking my vin.

A few weeks before that the dealer picked up my car from my work to do a small warranty repair (driver's mirror glass was delaminating from the backing). The young man who came to drive it to the dealer was very excited because he has a previous generation Regal.

Must be nice that you don't have to make an appointment for an oil change.
My local dealer needs that kind of service. :bangtard:

How much road noise if any does the Thule box create at highways speeds ? Which model box is that ?
Thank you

came out of Home Depot in Southington Connecticut and there was a black Buick tourx Park next to my white one

Today is my lucky day first I saw a maroon tourex somewhere in Wayne and just now I passed a smoked pearl tourex on 23 North in Butler. I waved to both but I don't think either recognize the car.

Does spotting one in the wild count if you’re watching someone’s YouTube video, and there’s a Tour X in it?

I believe they are close to extinction now, and are rarely seen in the wild.
Appears there are some in captivity, but it seems any efforts to breed them have not been successful.

No.... but that was very observant.
Just like dinosaurs in a video or movie... it does not count as seeing one in the wild.

Took my son skiing at Mountain Creek South this morning and as I was getting my boots off he started yelling excitedly about "my car"...sure enough there was a stock looking smoked pearl metallic TourX. If I brought mine I would have pulled over to get a pic of them together.

Kinda starting to wonder what happened to the only other TourX my local dealer sold. It was smoked pearl coincidentally.

Last time I saw it was pre pandemic coming out of the parking lot of just about the only local fancy restaurant in this town (a place where some items just say - "market price" on the menu.)

Nice find, I like the wheels on it. Just comparing to other wheels in picture, they look awesome!

You can really see the difference between it, small SUV's and the Outback next to it in respect to overall height. It really does have much nicer proportions.
