Doesn't look original to me. Notice how the chrome is going underneath your side trim and pushing it out. Whoever did this could have, at least, spliced it to not do that. I noticed, the chrome from your previous pics, that the fronts had chrome and the backs didn't. Nice car though. The color is great.

Good Morning all! I recently had my cracked windshield replaced. It came with rain sensor film attached to the windshield. I am still using rain sensor module that was not replaced because it worked before the windshield was replaced.

Now, when I was driving around with rain sensor still on, during sunny days, the wipers turned on. How can I deal with it?

The film is clear of bubbles that Technician had to replace the first time (they replaced twice due to poor sealing of the film in front of rain sensor, only to find out that it didn't cause the rain sensor to activate prematurely.

When I had my windshield replaced it came with the rain sensor attached. I haven’t had any issues. You need to take it back to them.

They showed me the windshield that do not have sensor attached, just the film and bracket to put sensor into it. They just put my sensor from previous windshield on the new one.

If the rain sensor is not powered on, the wipers will return to the "pulse" timer function on the wiper control stalk. If there are not air bubbles, I suspect the connection is not complete at the rain sensor, or that the wires may have been damaged during the window install.

Check fuses and also check the sensor itself for water under the cover. I had a window tinter ruin one of mine because he flooded it with water.

I thought I would have to transfer the sensor but when I pulled into the shop and saw my replacement windshield sitting there it already had a sensor. I paid $250 for my windshield. I didn’t want to pay extra for the HUD windshield. My HUD works fine.

Ok I will have to brave it, check the sensor by itself. It responds perfectly to the rain intensity, increasing speed when rain becomes heavy. It triggers on when sin shines directly into it.

Sun should not trigger it. As far as I know there is no adjustment.

Hey y'all! I'm loving my "Dreamer" since I got it. Right now we have hit 110k miles on it. It has been so good to me and my wife on our travels across America visiting Deaf Churches. Yep, I'm deaf!

I am trying to keep my car in an excellent shape, taking care of rugs, leather chairs, maintaining paint on the body and etc. We are currently researching on local detailing services to keep our car in "Factory" status. As for now we noticed that there are few dings, scratches and exposed paint spots on Dreamer's body. I've looked online for those things and there are so many options to select from. So, instead of guessing, can you tell me your experience and what paint touch up product that you would recommend to use for now until I can find good restoration service? And yes I got color code ready to order.

I've been sending our car to our trusted car mechanic keeping it in shape, replaced shocks, oil pressure sensor, cracked windshield, etc. They even exposed the dirty practice of other auto repair places, when other service was trying to rip me off with 2 products when I only needed one, saving me +200 dollars! They eventually found the "100 thousand miles" maintenance that I need to fix i.e. oil gasket and oil elbow, etc but not an emergency at the moment until I am able to afford those repairs, and I'm no mechanic either! My friend offered me his place and his mechanic skill to replace expensive things like those things listed.

Next, my gas gauge indicator is acting up, being full then few seconds later half then empty then whatever. I need a new fuel pump assembly rather than just replacing the level sensor so I won't have to worry about the pump failure in the near future. When I went to RockAuto, there are list of pump assembly, 14 of them listed. I am eyeing at BOSCH 67313 for 162.79 dollars. Or should I go for GM Genuine or DELPHI? Your recommendation is much appreciated!

Also Dreamer's visors materials are worn out (DARK GRAY), is there any online service that I can ship those visors out to have them replaced?

I have just gotten a LeSabre Custom and have been doing a lot of research on what needs to be replaced due to 'possible failure'.
1./ intake manifold gaskets. some sites call it the Plenum gaskets ? Check the engine oil frequently until you do this project. If the engine oil looks like a chocolate milk shake, don't drive it. The IM gaskets have failed allowing the oil and coolant to mix.. 2./ the two plastic coolant elbows. and 3. / the EGR tube. This EGR tube is a fairly inexpensive part. However the labor to R & R the part is pretty extensive.

A recommendation on the 'Replacing the two coolant elbows' with the aluminum ones: If you use the Dorman brand aluminum elbows, be sure to replace the Made in China 'O' rings and replace with high quality Made in USA 'O' rings. The Chinese 'O' rings will leak and defeat the whole purpose of removing the plastic elbows and replacing with aluminum ones. IOW they will leak !
I have not seen much info on my number 3 on the above list. IIRC it had to do with the excessive heat generated by the EGR tube causing the surrounding rubber or plastic parts to melt and fail. If anyone runs across this info, please post a link to it. I cannot locate it.

Scott, on Rock Auto catalog, look for the red heart symbol. It is a icon indicating this is a most popular choice for customers. ......... I used to favor AC Delco parts, but they have really gone up in price lately. The Delphi parts line is usually cheaper than AC Delco and just as good. They are a OEM supplier for many of the parts you will find on your Buick. I found the Delphi name on the original engine air filter housing yesterday.

As far as the UIM if you buy the ATP Upper Intake Manifold it comes with the reduced diameter EGR tube and a metal sleeve on the UIM itself.

When I looked at those other items else than BOSCH and Delphi, they require that I cut off the oval wiring harness from Le Sabre and rewire the compatible harness for fuel pump / housing assembly. So I'll go ahead and select BOSCH for that reason. I do not feel comfortable with cutting and rewiring anything in my dreamer. :/

It’s only a few wires….nothing to it.😉
BTW I’ve never had a Carter fuel pump fail on me. I had a Bosch pump fail in 6 months….No fun when I had to drop the tank again. That was on a 1997 Olds 88. I’ve also had a Delphi MAF bad right out of the box and a Delphi ICM fail right after the two year warranty.
