What did you do to your Regal today?

what part of engine was blown?

(I don't have any more info on what part of the engine went bad).

DarrinStephens, that was a very nice job.

2017 Regal GS 2.0T
19,729K
In. Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w30
Out. Pennzoil Platinum 5w30
NAPA Platinum 47045 filter
This is my 5K oil change routine.

It's great to see someone taking such good care of their vehicle Malo83.

Yeah, mine got one of those too on Wednesday (Carwash).
We had a couple snows last week and loads of salt on the road.

I've put less than 10,000 miles on my car in 3.25 years and have
changed the oil 9-10 times.
Most of my miles are in the city and are short trips, so it's hard
on the car & oil.

I figured out that the catalytic converter was bad on one of my GS's and took it off the other GS to replace it. 🤣

Why? I once bought a Magnaflow cat for $100..

Firstly, Happy New Year to everybody! Just did an oil change and am waiting for my RR wheel ABS sensor so I can bring my Stabilitrak, trac control, ABS, and EPS back online.

Bought a whole bunch of goodies for my Regal last Week.
4 AC Delco Iridium 41-125 Spark Plugs
MSD Ignition Coil - Blaster Series - GM 4-CYL Engines - Black - 4-Pack
Permatex Dielectric Grease
1 Lexivon 5/8" Swivel Magnetic Spark Plug Socket (3/8" Drive x 10" Length)
GM Genuine Parts - VVT Intake and Exhaust Solenoids
5 Quarts Quaker State 5W-30 Full Synthetic Oil w/Dexos
AC Delco Professional Oil Filter
3 Gallons of Valvoline MaxLife Full Synthetic Transmission Fliud - DextronVI
1 Gallon Prestone Dex-Cool Anti-Freeze/Coolant - Concentrate (For GM Vehicles)
2 Gallons Distilled Water for Anti-Freeze/Coolant Flush and Fill
Fram Ultra Air Filter

Waited for it to warm up a little bit today before going outside to work on my Regal.
It was finally about 48° around 3:45pm, but that wind chill made it feel like 37°.
I did manage to get a few of the things on my List done.

I Removed the Engine Cover.
Then started replaced the Ignition Coil Packs with the MSD Coil Packs listed above (one at a Time).
I also replaced the Spark Plugs one at a time with the AC Delco's listed above.
While I had the Engine Cover off, I went ahead and replaced both VVT Solenoids (Intake and Exhaust) both were GM Genuine Parts.
I put the Engine Cover Back and then replaced the Air Filter with the Fram Ultra Air Filter.

I never did make it down on the ground to change any fluids.
That's quite all right, my Back has really been hurting a lot lately.
I only have Oil & Filter to change, Transmission Fluid and Anti-Freeze/Coolant.
Guess I should also Rotate the tires?
Maybe I can get to these things tomorrow, supposed to be even warmer.
My Regal's not going to know how to feel after all of this.

Hopefully my Gas Milage will improve with just the things I did today, it should.
Should be getting around 300-335 miles to a tank, I've only been getting around
225. Guess it could be my lead foot (JK)?

Got back outside today.
I managed to Change the Oil and Filter.
I then Flushed and Filled the Transmission Fluid.
Finally, I got the Tires Rotated.
I still need to Flush and Fill the Anti-Freeze/Coolant, I ran out of time today!

Time to put the summer tires on so I took the opportunity to give them a good cleaning. Lots of scrubbing to get the backs done and then up on the workbench for a polishing. They probably haven't been tis clean since new.

I agree, so nice out yesterday that I gave my wife's SUV a good bath.
She drove 3-4 hours to Detroit and 3-4 hours Home this weekend.

Afterward I looked at my Regal and decided it needed a bath too!
Dark Colors show every speck of dust!
Hers is a Black GMC Terrain and mine is Dark Sapphire Blue Metallic.

Major score yesterday. A complete NOS set of 19x8.5 wheels for my '12 Regal, still in the boxes. Came complete with new center caps, lug nuts and TPMS sensors.
