What did you do to your Regal today?

SINCE we have 50,011 Regal owners strolling through here on a minutely basis - I'd like to know what some of you did to your Regal today. So! Let's start. Who's going to be first?

My playing and fiddling with the Regal CXL generally happens on weekends. Today, however, I commuted in as I usually do, 2 miles on surface streets, then shifting to Manual to downshift for the climb up the bridge. I stay in M6 on the expressway, about 5 miles, until I slide off at my exit and drive neatly and swiftly the rest of the way to work, using the Manual function when I feel like it. This is a longer commute than I used to do with my Park Avenue; but the Regal is even more fun to drive -- or a different kind of fun; the Park Avenue was serene, the Regal sprightly. So I take the long way.

Tomorrow, if it's not raining, the Regal gets its weekly $1.50 DIY car wash, with wax-as-you-dry spray and semi-matte shine for the tires and black trim bits. And I'll make sure to check the oil. I let it slide for 6 weeks and found the car had consumed 2 quarts of oil. Now I'm going to keep a closer eye on it.

Vacation time next week; I may do some long half-day drives.

Yesterday I took the Regal in for an oil change and tire rotation. Today I was looking over the inspection report that the dealer provides and I decided that, without any doubt, my 2011 Regal Turbo that was built in Germany is by far the best car that I have owned and I have owned between 20 and 30 cars. It drives like the day it was built with 64000 miles on it! I can fully understand you taking the long way to work "BenzAdmiral"!

Thank you, sir. And to shs92645, my Regal has gone just beyond the 65K mile mark, and it also drives the same as it did when I test-drove it in January of 2014. As for the Regal being my best car ever, let's see.

1975 Ford Maverick sedan: first car, so hardly any vehicle can surpass that.

1965 Mercury Park Lane sedan: a pleasure to drive, cheap (in 1981-85) to buy tires and tuneups for. Still, I wouldn't want to have it today (10 mpg city!).

1975 Volvo sedan: it's a long story, but it burned up while I was driving it. (Well, maybe not so long.)

1984 Ford Escort sedan: stranded me or hit me with a major repair nearly every year of the 7 I had it.

1989 Olds Cutlass coupe: fun and quick, a good road trip car, and its successor, the '94 Olds Cutlass coupe, ditto. The A/C was poor in that one; GM was just starting with R134A A/C systems.

1984 Mercedes 280CE coupe: loads of fun, and i was proud of it, but pricey to feed and repair.

1986 MB 420SEL sedan: the big S-Class that gave rise to my screen name. Also hungry, and parts were a little $teep, but a delight to have.

1997 MB C230 sedan: Good little car while it lasted, but the transmission began to go out at only 85K miles. I jumped ship to . . .

2003 Park Avenue, which got me into Buicks. Grand beast, cheap to run, repair, maintain, and insure.

And now, the 2011 Regal, which blends some of the best features of the Benzes with the reliability of the Park Avenue.

No, it's too soon to crown it my best car, but it's in the top 3 or 4!

I'm not sure a thread with less than 10 posts should be Sticky:. I understand the fun and the pulling in new member potential of a "what did you do today" thread, as I see them on almost every forum I troll. I just don't think it deserves top shelf placement yet. In my mind this thread is comparable to a girl in a bikini, standing at the entrance of a strip mall spinning a sign that says grand opening.... A lot of people are going to pull in the parking lot, and a few will whistle... I come to this forum to learn mostly, but I help people when I can and I try to post and find posts that make me laugh... If I'm trying to learn, help someone, and laugh. I'm going to look for a girl that is vaping, inside a McDonalds, inside a Walmart... There are a few of those girls on this forum buried somewhere in our 186 page garbage avalanche. They are a little older and you have to dig for them, but they are entertaining and full of knowledge.

A good/popular thread will stay towards the top or someone will bump it back to the front page in a few days.

I know you own the store, but please don't park in a handicapped spot because you don't feel like walking.

I used the interior of my Regal like a farm truck to bring home 50 bricks, a Garden Weasel, 2 aluminum wheelbarrow handles, and a few medium sized plants.





I should vacuum the carpet though.... Damn you brick dust!

You can keep this thread stuck, if you unstick the Typical Concerns thread.

The Typical Concerns thread has been circling the drain for the past year and the way I see society and a lot of forums going is when a new member has a concern or question they either ask Google or start a new thread. They could give a shit about doing extensive research on their own or keeping all related information together if all they have to do is; start a thread stating they "looked everywhere but", get back to harassing people on social media, and by the time they update their status someone has replied with an answer or a link..

Figure: Mayor's picture thread got 250 posts in two years (not Sticky). If this thread has more than 70 quality posts by Thanksgiving it probably deserves to be Sticky for a while.

What did I do to my Buick this weekend? Unlocked to fetch my sunglasses to go ride my motorcycle and go on a beer boat. It never moved. This is my level of commitment....LOL!

I'll put 500 miles on the regal today driving from New Orleans to Florida. I've been using the Trifecta Tune for the last five months and after this drive I plan to flash the ecu with my IPF tune.
