What did you do to your Regal today?

Upper 90's today, gave her a good wash after flying down Interstate 5 front end was full of bugs. 😵

I'm ready for the Upper 80's & lower 90's.
We came close to 70 today but with the wind at 10-20mph, sure didn't feel like 70°.
We've had Rain on and off for two days, so the washing I gave my Regal on Thursday
didn't do much good.
I have gone out and wiped the water away before it became water spots on the paint.
As a matter of fact, I gotta get out there and wipe her down again!

Okay, she's all wiped down again!
Hard to believe that 2 hours ago I was outside in shorts and a T-Shirt.
When I went out 15 minutes ago, I was wearing a Carhartt Long Sleeve Shirt and Blue Jeans, I about froze.
MSN is saying the temp is 50° and the feels like temp with 10mph winds is 46°.

Found out a couple weeks ago just how bad the bugs are already when I washed my
wife's SUV after her trip to Detroit.
The first round of bugs (the trip there) had 2 days to Bake On in 80 degree weather.
Then there were the bugs on the return trip, those came off pretty easily.
But I had to go over the front end of her SUV a second time to get those dried bugs off!

New color on the wheels. New system set up. Added a 3rd sub and a new 1k amp for the interiors.
specs?

The thing I did to my 2012 Regal GS this week is I sold it. I sold it because the motor is blown, and I am not sinking another $6k into this car. My repair shop was in the process of repairing a defective injector, which had resulted in that cylinder being full of gas (liquids are not compressible), which is what probably did the engine in. While the compression test looked good, and the motor still could start, it made terrible noises and would need replacement. I bought this car with 72k miles on it in May 2018 and it ended up having somewhere in the 10x K mile range at the end. My Regal had nice road handling, looked cool, had incredible power, and I enjoyed driving a stick. But all the maintenance issues, particularly for things like replacing the headlight assemblies which should not have ever been needed, made it be not be a fun experience for me. So it was time to move on.

I really appreciate the help that many of you have offered on this board. For the headlight assembly replacement in particular advice from others helped me find a much better replacement product than otherwise, and find it sooner, and helped me understand how to install them in the simplest and lowest-risk way. I wish you all the best experience with your peculiar and sometimes wonderful Buick Regals.

One of the things I did on my 2012 Regal GS was to replace all 4 wheels and tires, using 18" wheels so I could have tires with almost-normal sidewalls that would not blow out so easily. I still have the 4 GS wheels and tires. I of those 4 GS wheel rims is bent - driveable at local driving speeds but something you would want to fix, and there is curb scarring on at least some of the rims. If these would be useful to someone and can pick them up in person (north-central NJ), make me a reasonable offer via PM.

oof, my motor popped too, but i got a new long block for $1550 and with the serviceables and paying my friend for the lift use, I ended up spending ~$2200

I replaced my vacuum reservoir this week since it split itself in half. Had the old one from my old long block I saved.
Replaced the foam insulator that goes around the fuel pump since fuel had deteriorated the old one.
Cleaned out the interior since I just took a trip in it.
Oil change.

Finally picked up the Trunk Liner that matches my Floor Liners.
It's been almost $100 for the longest time, and I didn't want to
spend that much.
Well, it finally went on sale, picked it up for just over $45 Including
Taxes and Shipping.
It's in the Trunk, but I didn't take my Phone with me when putting
it in, so no pictures.

Gave it a good wash job and a coat of 303 Nano.

I haven't had time to Wash my Car lately.
But the good thing is that it really hasn't needed it the last week or so.

I purchased a Spare Steering Wheel for my Regal on Ebay (Brand New OEM).
It arrived today, looks like it's in perfect shape (No Air Bag)(Cost around $56
including Tax and Shipping).
I bought it because the Leather on my current Steering Wheel is
starting to wear out where your hands normally touch.
Usually, I can use Brown Shoe Polish and it takes care of it for a while, but it
will eventually wear thru the polish again.
I'm afraid the Leather will eventually wear out too, so now I have a Spare.

I put the chrome wheels back on it today, the original painted wheels along with their tires have been on it for the last year. It is going to be needed an oil change pretty soon.

The Chrome ones that come on the cars from the factory are a wide 7 spoke wheel. These are the accessory wheels that had to be bought at the parts counter that has a narrower 10 spoke. I have never seen another set. My friend was the manger of the parts counter and I bought them for less but still not cheap. I bought them the first year I got the car new so I have had them a while. They may not be available any more.

Below is the Wheel I'd like.
A set of 4 is around $1101 and I just don't have
that kind of cash right now.
They look just like the wheels I have now with the exception
of them being Chrome, mine are Silver (Painted OEM).
I also like the wheels in the second photo, but they're even more
expensive at $1611 for the set of 4 wheels.

Oh ya, mine have a ton of Road Rash from the previous owner.
They did have them touched up so you couldn't tell, but after
a dozen car washes their paint started coming off!

I have the original painted wheels like you have that I run in the winter but now that I live down south I do not really need them. I use them anyways to get the use and wear out of the tires. When I ordered the car this is the 7 spoke that you could get from the factory for $1,000. I do not care for them so I got the painted and bought the 10 spoke over the counter. I like the style of the painted wheel and if I were to do it again I would have just kept them. I was feeling extra friendly towards my wife and bought her the 10 spoke chrome.🙂

If you're in need of another 10 spoke like yours, someone it offering one on Ebay.
They've listed it as New (Other). Selling it for $149.95 Free Shipping.
It's a Takeoff, that's why it's listed as New (Other).

I looked but did not see that wheel. At that price it is tempting but I really do not need it.

Fresh spark plugs today at 69,000 kilometres in my 2016 T2 . I'm kind of surprised at how dirty the old ones looked, but it's idling way smoother now. Hopefully help the milage too.

Took the Throttle Body out today and cleaned it.
Had to Reset the ECM after the cleaning but didn't have time to
do it until around 9:30pm tonight.
It does seem to have put some of the Get Up and Go back in the car.

My Regal had still been acting a bit sluggish even after I had changed
the Spark Plugs, Coil Packs, VVT Intake and Exhaust a month or
so ago. I had also changed the Oil & Filter and the Transmission Fluid
at that time.
I do have Anti-Freeze awaiting my attention, just haven't had the time.

BTW, Cleaning the Throttle Body and Resetting the ECM did wonders
for my Regal, running like a champ again!

Dropped in my 3rd (hopefully final) shortblock. Original threw a rod through the block while I was testing the limits of it with an S257 Turbo on 30+psi 😆
2nd block was supposed to be temporary while I built a forged bottom end. But had a boost controller solenoid fail during spirited driving, spiked ungodly high, and another rod through the block.
Hoping this forged bottom end holds up to see 600 on the dyno at least once 🤞
