I know I can cut that wire but for an auto that costs $32,000 one shouldn't have to.Try this or trade to a Lexus.
Cutting it may affect your warranty also. I'm still waiting on Buick for an answer - though I will probably not get one.DON'T CUT THAT WIRE!
Doing what is suggested in the link will disable your trunk pressure pad switch NOT the remote FOB function as was implied.
Good FYI for those planning on using the internet to modify something.....get 2, 3 or more verifications prior to acting. Lots of bad intel out here.
Based upon the wiring design, the only way to disable trunk operation would be to intercept the wire going to the trunk solenoid relay. This would inhibit ALL trunk release options as there is no way to separate remote from pressure pad activation. It looks like the wire harness may have a 'loop' wire for just such a design......more research is required to determine if the 'loop' extends somewhere convenient to put a lock out switch. Based soley upon the schematic I can't tell if the loop runs 1 inch or 10 feet from the fuse/relay center.
My other MAJOR complaint is that my driver's seat only occasionally decides to go to it's poisition upon entry into the car. I've resigned myself to having to manually push the 1 button most times I enter the car, since my dealer attemped a fix that didn't change the issue. But that's a story for another day.
Since, Buick has known about the seat problem since 2010 you whould think
they whould build the 2011 with a different seat module with the TSB they have
out i have the same problem with my 2010 it works 50% but i am afraid if i take it back to the dealer which is over a hour round trip and its works
they will not put the new module in because it works??????
It seems Buick (GM) is not interested in fixing this problem.I found the answer and a workaround to this myself. It is the keyfob which engages when in my pant pocket. I now walk around with the key fob in my shirt pocket and it hasn't happened since. I was in denial for a while thinking it was something to do with the car but it would never happen to my wife. With all the keys and change in my pocket, sitting down caused one of them to hit the trunk button. They need to be designed for this reality of life.
I am posting about what I think is a legitimate problem that I and others are experiencing with the remote trunk release function on the key fob for the Lacrosse. I was under the assumption that this forum was a place where one could post his/her concerns for others to read, including GM, and to see if there is a solution or to find a solution for the concern.I think you are right. Perhaps this is the appropriate time to give this a rest.
What is a problem for me may not be a problem for you but it seems to be a problem for others. I have been to the dealer and have contacted BCS (GM). The dealer replaced the switch above the license plate and stated that there was nothing that they could do about the key fob function unless BCS (GM) addressed it. BCS (GM) is not willing to address the problem.
If this thread bothers you then I suggest that you ignore it.
