Buick Ownership
2019 Buick Regal TourX
Just wanted to let you all know I ran my VIn at Carvana to see what they would offer. A month ago it was 24k.....today it was 27.5k.

I have a 2019 Essence with 13500 miles. What a jump!

Used car prices are crazy right now. I waited a month too long to buy mine and paid basically $2000 extra.

2018.5 Essence with 22K miles.
Grey/Blk with the works.
Quoted $24,072 for a straight sale to them.

NYC
They have a few 2018's listed for sale ranging from $25K to $29K (mileage dependent).
Wonder if it's the general market for used cars that has boosted the pricing, or could it be model specific demand?

No idea.

Now I'm considering possibly selling it to them. Choices.

A dealer I was working with in MN checked the auction sites for me and there were no Regals out there except for one GS.

Used car, SUV, and truck prices are up over 32 percent year over year. There is a new car shortage as well as people's sticker shock from what vehicles that are available.

On top of that, Carvana seems to pay top dollar right off the bat. In person car dealers will start with low ball offers before they offer you a good price.

For comparison I have a ‘19 Essence with 59k and the offer is $20.5k. It’s similar to KBB. About $10k less than I paid for it isn’t too shabby. Unfortunately there isn’t anything in the market that tickles my fancy...except a E63 AMG.

And just like that they drop it to 25k.

I do like my wagon so it ain't going anywhere.

Just checked. $25.5 for my 2018 Essence with 23,500 miles. I will keep my wagon, thanks.

If they are offering $28.5 why do we think their asking price will be?

Nearly $11,000 for my GS, with nearly 75k miles. Carfax values it at $9,450. I paid around $13,500 for it a year and a half ago.

Looks like I know who I'm selling my car to, when that time comes.

I'll check every few weeks to see what they offer.

Like many of you, nothing jumps out as an obvious replacement other than a RS6 which I can't afford.

Wait 5 years. Most of them will be in landfills due to absurd maintenace requirements and awful resale values. But then you may not want one. 😉

I have a buddy who bought a new Kona EV, loved it...but the offer he got from one of those places was more than he payed for it... basically he sold it to em, bought an audi Etron and saved money...doesn't like the Etron so much, so he's watching the deals to trade up again...these are new cars lol...I can't believe they were offering that much for a tourx, that's nuts. Problem is if I did it, I wouldn't know what I'd get otherwise.

I guess things are crazy in the used world. ’18 Essence TourX with DC1 & S&S for about $1.5k less than mine new.

even worse, no options Essence with over 37k miles

29k on my18 Essence TourX with DC1 & S&S that I got at 14.5K off sticker bought out of state. Looks like I could break even, but no real interest in selling. Have a 2003 Mustang Cobra that goes for $20K something that I have no plans to sell either. Same goes for my tractors, excavator, house, rifles, bikes, wife, etc.
