Mine started this last week..."shift to park" while in park..did same as you, restarted, jiggled shifter, put in gear, reparked, pushed in on reverse button while depressing brake, pushed up hard on shifter, released brake, pinging finally went away. Car is a 2020..also have some sort of "reduced power" message when trying to accelerate immediately. What is happening to the relatively new car? This morning I got the "shift to park" message on the DIC even though I was already in park. I tried putting in gear and back in park but got the message again. Turned off car and restarted and message went away. I think this has happened once before as well.
Temporary glitch? Concern? Anyone else ever have this happen?
2018 Sport back Essence red needle.
I took the car to the shop over a month ago and they told me they ordered me a new shifter unit. Still no call or any word on the part. I ended up removing the jumper harness. I get the StP message but very rarely now. Before it was a daily issue. But it happens maybe once a month and now to solve the problem I just flick the shifter button and it goes away. Very strange. Not sure if this will turn into a recall or not.Are you still not able to use the manual shifting? Have you resolved this issue?
"Reduced Power" might be fixed by a replacement gas pedal assembly or EBCM flash.Mine started this last week..."shift to park" while in park..did same as you, restarted, jiggled shifter, put in gear, reparked, pushed in on reverse button while depressing brake, pushed up hard on shifter, released brake, pinging finally went away. There is a problem with electronic parts suppliers since they sell bulk and you will buy a bag of these switches.Yeah...I'd just source the Omron switch from an electronic parts supplier. No need to pay extra money for a knock off.
You can buy a single switch from Digi-key. Says it’s Omron branded part. There is a problem with electronic parts suppliers since they sell bulk and you will buy a bag of these switches.
Amazon also sells Chinese copies of Japanese-made Omron switches. "According to the original factory specifications."
