It has been a bit, Has anyone got resolution for this? I've got 22.9, and it definitely didn't fix it. Rear lines still disappear every time I back out of my driveway......
Yes, I found out what is the problem. I'll summarize it here, but look back for a post from NaviMKE
Mine is a 2018 model. Saw it at a spring auto show. It took 4 months to get it! So it came with an early version software. Eventually, GM told me to have the dealer update the software. That was part of it, but there appears to be an issue with the CPU's processing capacity. The computer is being asked to do a lot, and it takes time to finish bootup. The lines will always stay if I wait for the entire bootup process to finish before I put it into reverse. Watch all the boot processes on the Nav screen. When it finally loads traffic, then it is done. If I start to back out of the garage before bootup is finished, at the first beep of the proximity sensors, when I pass the door frame, the lines disappear, though they re-appear briefly after I shift into drive.
Be patient! Its not like my old Buick V-8's or supercharged V-6's where they were up and running right away! We are driving computers these days that in turn are driving the vehicle!
I've had the same problem with my 2018 terrain since the day I bought it.. So. there is no fix! When that happens. I switch to neutral and back to reverse again.Y'all aren't going to be happy with this but please don't shoot the messenger.
While at the dealer today to see where my control arms were, I asked the service manager about the camera. He said, "I saw something about that, let's go look." He was able to pull up something dated December 21, 2018 that basically states that GM is aware this happens and it is a result the computer not having enough memory to do all functions and that to get the lines back, "shift out of reverse and then back into it." Also said that dealers are to advise customers that this is to be considered normal.
So, no fix and appears GM really doesn't care about fixing it. One of the lamest things I've seen from GM in a long time.

They performed an update and is have had the Nav fail to “wake up” several times. The first time they went in via the USB and reset it.
