Just remove the foam from all tires. The noise difference is negligible. I actually love my replacement set of ProContact TX without foam, made in the USA. They are just getting worn after 45k since I installed them (replaced stock Conti's at 30k). I will get around 10k more out of them, which is exactly within their warranty. Great plush handling and fuel economy. Wear and acceleration are so good I may even get another set of them again or get PureContact LS.My new tires arrived. Indeed the foam had separated from one of the tires causing really bad vibration. Hindsight being 20/20 maybe I should have just pulled the foam from this one tire and kept driving on this set as they only have 38k miles on them and still had plenty of tread left. alas $900 spent, and I should feel better with great traction and stopping power, plus no fear of another tire losing it’s foam.
