GM performance parts Regal Stage Kit 2012-2013

Look for a some heads turning to see your beautiful ride and some corners to take faster than you ever have. :headbang:

Hey @gjtalis, thanks for the review I actually just ordered the kit today, should be in early next week. I was just curious if you got any type of calibration report from the Dealer that detailed what was changed or what was done/upgraded?

Also, that $250.00 seems kind of high...was that a flat rate for the flash or was that hourly? My dealer said at least an hour @ $99.00/hr possibly 1-1/2 hours to do the flash, etc.

He indicated that was for flash and CAI install. Likely 2 hours x $125 /hr.

truckIt1 - the noise happens as the turbo starts to spool, right after i give it some gas, i know there is a correlation between the noise and the turbo sucking in air, but it doesn't sound natural, and it is not consistent. Meaning each time i give it gas it will produce a different amount of grunt/rattle. I did only get to drive it for about 12 minutes so i'll wait and see, if it gets worse i'll have it checked out

Is yours a manual trans? they are pretty noisy during low rpm shifts, or revving in neutral with clutch engaged

bbronner413- yeah that price was for flash install as well as intake install, a service center will charge you 1 hour for each... you can save yourself an hour labor charge if you feel like installing intake yourself but you might set off a sensor or 2 on your way to the dealer for the flash.

truckIt1- yeah its a manual, will give it a more thorough inspection when i get a chance sometime this weekend

I have to admit I was never a fan of the sucking sound from my zzp intake...more so the filter..I loved the sound of the intake piping itself. .I always assumed it was just a product of the open element. ...could one of you guys that have this intake please tell me if compared to the zzp ...does it have a more muted vacuum cleaner sound from idle through the rpm range with the covered filter?...thanks

I have not heard the zzp, however I have heard a few of the solstice GXP with the GM Performance CAI and the solstice is much louder, almost annoying. My GS is much quieter, it is noticeable on cold start and on light acceleration. The shield that surrounds the filter is well insulated which drowns out some of the noise and keeps the heat out. I thought someone on here had the ZZP and went to the GM, maybe they can give you a more definitive answer.

Yeah I went from the ZZP to the GM intake. The Gm intake is quieter, especially on cold start ,than the ZZP. You can still hear the nice turbo sounds though.

What sort of work did you have done. I just got my gs 3 weeks ago. Just wondering what ti look for on these cars

My car would make a clacking noise when taking off in first or reversing. After months of fighting the dealers, a competent tech got his hands on it and diagnosed it as the axle nuts had loosened up. This car has been one problem after another, but really more of inconvenient annoyances. Right now, my clicking in the steering column us back. It's not an audible clicking. You actually feel this.

took the car for a much longer drive this afternoon, and by the end the weird rattling sound was pretty much gone. now it just sounds sweet, very pleased with kit so far

my verdict is...... I like it, definitely more fun than stock, turbo sounds much better, and it has a little bit more pep in its step... but if your looking for bang for your buck i would say go with the Trifecta or IPF tune, they offer more power across the board for much less $$$

We will have support for this intake soon 🙂

I have a chance to buy this kit used from a GS owner that is selling his car. It comes with the everything (intake, serial number and authorization code). However, since he already re-flashed his car, will I be able to use the same serial number and authorization code for mine? I know with a lot of aftermarket tuners it can only be used on a specific VIN. If I won't be able to, then I'll just buy the kit new. Just seeing if I could save a little money. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the feedback brother...ordered today and I'm looking forward to it....cold start was always a little crazy with the zzp...it jut seemed to be a continuous vacuum sound bordering on sounding like a massive vacuum leak...I really like the idea of that cone being covered up both for heat and sound deadening
..I always though the nice sound came more from the metal piping anyway....

slp-gnx - id like to say I'm 99.6% possitive that if the authorization code was already used to flash another car you will not be able to re-use it again on your car... thats what i was told by the guy i ordered my kit from, but id call your dealer and double check

x2 on the reflash, once the authorization code is used it is done. you will not be able to use it to get your tune.

if you choose to buy the intake new because you can't flash the old one, i would be interested in purchasing the used intake.....
