I did it prior, as a preventative, based on advice here. I was removing and replacing the trans drain pan anyways, so I went ahead and did it. I also added a better magnet in the drain pan. Will it make a difference? Who knows, but for <$5, it was worth it.

At what mileage did you put the TransGo shift kit in?
Did you notice any difference in shifting?

Didn’t notice much of a difference. Put it in around 81,000 miles I want to say. Although, I didn’t have issues shifting beforehand. Sometimes I’ll notice a more firm shift when I brake, start slowing down, then step on the gas while I’m still slowing.

Typing this reminds me, I need to get my axles checked and inner tie rods checked out. I also replaced my outer tie rods back when I did all those other things.

If you have a front end vibration or clunk, most of the time it will be the lower control arm (LCA) bushings. The rear most bushing goes bad on these and one has to get an entire new LCA. Around $80 per from MevoTech.

Got it, I'll take a look at that later in the summer.

Unfortunately, she broke down last week. Check engine light started flashing, and she started sputtering. I suspect misfire, but didn't have an OBD tool on me at that time. I minimized how much I stepped on the gas and got her close to home, but needed a tow the rest of the way since it was uphill. Noticed a lot of rat droppings in the outer grooves of the LIM. Don't know how and where to start with diagnosing the actual cause, and I don't have time either. If anyone has any shop recommendations in Nashville, I would appreciate it.

Pack rats probably chewed the wiring to injectors or plug wires. Is the car stored outside? Do you live in an area that has rats or mice?

Car is stored in a parking garage, so easily accessible to the outside. Live in Nashville now, so as with any city, probably lots of rats and mice.

Yep, just like this. Put two of those round magnets, one on pan and one on filter. I also replaced the gasket and put in a trans pan with a drain.
the gasket was probably better than the one you replaced it with lol

unless it was ALSO an elastomeric o ring gasket

Car is at the shop currently with 607,800 now. Needs a new radiator, been driving around with mine cracked on top. A new driver side brake hose is in order as well. The TransGo shift kit that I had installed in mine has worked amazingly. I wasn't having any shifting issues before, but it shifts like a brand new transmission after that kit into the 1-2 and 2-3 body.

Did you replace the fluid line in the trans with the updated design?

How long might a LeSabre last>>>> How many miles on yours????
My 2001 LeSabre just racked up 400,000 miles as of today. Not a single major repair, just tires and brakes and oil changesand such. It is rusting apart, but still runs so quiet and is so comfortable.

Here is a question that many have asked:

how long does an Infiniti last?

Hey, I'm a poet!

These high mileages give me relief that I've got plenty of time with this car. Got it with 39k in may of last year and I'll be hitting 50k any day now.

Being a Florida car of course it has a Landau top but having had a 93 Fleetwood before this I can't say it's a great look for her in comparison. :T

Had a '95. Tranny let go from 1st to 2nd at 247K. Still ran/rode great. Went to that little junkyard in the sky. Currently have an '02 bought last DEC with 73K and always garaged. Reads 785xx today. Had to replace the dry rotted tires, flush the cooling system, and replaced PS wheel bearing. Changed the oil at 75K and then at 78K. Still need to get that aft 02 sensor changed.
