Since new, I have noticed a noise (kind of a rattle/slight knocking) coming from the front passenger-side suspension. It is especially prevalent over bumps. After doing some research, it appears some people experience the same problem with cars that share the Regal's platform (Malibu, Aura, etc).

In the Edmunds forums, owners with similar noises in their Regal have taken their car in and the dealership has cured the issue by replacing the upper strut mount(s).

Anyone else here have the same problem? If so, did the dealership fix it for you? How long did it take to get parts?

I am taking my car in Thursday morning.

no problem here...
part should be covered by the dealer ..
should be same day service if just strut mount.

Anyone else here experience the same problem? My dealer was unable see a problem or replicate. I told them to try again. If they still cannot replicate, I will ask them to ride with me so I can point it out.

Also experienced the Service Suspension System indicator.

Well, the sound was a lot more faint today so they could not replicate. I have a feeling that it was due to the 96 degree heat today. The service manager agreed that could be it and advised that I come back when it is colder and/or the sound is more pronounced.

I swear, it is not in my head...

Mine is in the shop for the same thing right now, among other things (heated seat is FUBAR). Let you know. Second time its been in for it, first was an "unable to reproduce" comment.

Mine does the same thing! It only happens in one spot on our road... it is at a intersection. I will keep an eye on it, not too bad yet

I've noticed that it gets worse when it is colder out. I will wait until it drops below freezing and then take it back...

So I was able to reproduce this with my service manager in the car. I will say it wasn't as loud as I hear on my way to work (must be the perfect combo of road bumps that does it), but it was there. Unfortunately I don't have the sheet in front of me that says the parts they ordered, but I believe they did say a strut mount, and some sort of link (Can't remember). Looks like I also have a busted heated seat temperature sensor, as the seat heater turns off after about 30-40 seconds of being on.

She will be going back next week I'm assuming, so I'll keep you posted on the results.

Yes, my regal has been in twice for this exact noise, dealer could not duplicate. Currently fighting with Buick customer service. It goes back in tomorrow. One more trip and they can buy it back.

I have the same problem. I am going in tomorrow to have a tech ride with me.

my right front stabilitrak harness was laying loose and rubbing on the CV boot. They replaced both parts and I think that was causing my noise.

I think my car has either a bad strut mount or something is loose, like the steering rack, sway bar, caliper? Unfortunately my dealer sucks at diagnosing anything, and Buick customer service is a joke. These customer service reps get on here and post comments to look good in the public eye, and the truth is its all BS. My Regal has been in three times for this fairly prevalent and obvious noise, and they cant diagnose. How hard would it be to put a chassis ear on the car, or maybe have a regional rep look at it? I can guarantee that other near luxury brands dont treat their customers lik this. My only recourse is lemon law I guess.

As I am assisting Tricia for this week and don't have any context, snewbyt07, have you already opened a Service Request through Customer Service?

Yes , ibhave a current open case with customer service, if you want to call it that. Does anyone here know of a fix or has their noise gone away...any info would be greatly appreciated. Gm is once again clueless, and standing behind the dealers who say they dont hear anything.

Thanks for the reply, I hope that cures your noise.

Dealer replaced upper strut mount today on front passenger side. The suspension noise is now gone on.

Glad to hear that your Regal is fixed.......wish me luck, nobody seems to hear mine, except me.

My suspension still rattles, been in four times......and Buick customer service says drive it until it gets worse. What a way to treat a customer.
