Yes that is the harness I installed. As an engineer I'd like to know more about what the harness does and why it supposedly fixes the issue. I had my doubts. Doubts confirmed in my mind.

I know that link, however, I can't find the model of this particular switch.
I don’t know your specifics but if it’s just the lever that is different, change it with the original. They do come off. I had to do this with a limit switch on a power recliner. Everything matched spec wise except the lever.
Building by the code table D2HW-ER231H the one in your first set of pictures would seem to be the short post, right hand side, simulated roller
What did they charge, if you don’t mind? Just starting getting it on my 18’ Sportback, 110k miles.
Waaaaaay too much for labor. For anyone else having this issue, just purchase the shifter and DIY. I replaced mine myself. It took about 1.75hrs total and I even got a 7cent refund (found in the crevices after removing the panels lol). Difficulty was probably 4/10 only because it was the first time I had removed those panels before.

My messages aren't being approved but putting this here in case it does someday.... I've confirmed that this part fits and fixes my issue. Probably about 2hrs from teardown to reassembly. Not too difficult if you've taken apart interiors of newer vehicles. I did pull apart the old unit. I think the switch is likely fine. To me, it looks like the shifter itself gets a little "sloppy" over time. I feel like it doesn't always move forward enough to make good contact with the switch. I'm guessing a few wraps of electrical tape or shrink tubing around that switch's "arm" would probably fix it. Maybe even slightly bending it outward a bit.
