Sound System Issue

I would also include with the letter a foolproof way (written in clear instructions) on how to demonstrate the issue (reliably and repeatably). Then the corporate execs will hopefully light a fire under the rears of some subordinates.

Hi Shiveks, how are you? My name is Andy Chen and I'm an employee of GM. As mentioned, I'm having the same issue as you. The Harman engineer will be here tomorrow morning and fix the problem for me. If the fix is proven to be effective, then we will try to roll out a solution to all dealerships. I apologize for the issue you and others are having. We will work our best to resolve it as quickly as possible. Thank you.

I really dont understand why, that after almost five months since this post, we dont have a fix for all of these 2011's with screwed up radios. Did I miss something or did someone at GM start playing damage control?

I want to personally apologize for the misleading message I've posted. I'm a GM employee, but not an official spokesperson. As much as I like the issue to be fixed, I have no idea what the progress is on the issue. I do believe they are still working on the issue. I'm sorry to hear all the frustrations, I also hope that a fix will be available soon.

The dealer replaced my radio, and its still the same. Buick customer service says maybe i have a poor xm signal, i said bulls****.
😡

Did the replace the damn amp or just the head unit?

Just the head unit.

I would say the amp is the next logical step they can take. I would demand they change out the amp with a new one and we will all say a prayer that it works. :headbang:

Mine is most noticeable on CD's or iPods, but is noticeable with the radio too. I have had the same problem since day 1 back in September. I've been watching this thread like a hawk ever since. My dealer thought I was crazy, but now its really getting frustrating...😡

My dealer's sound guy read this forum and agreed to replace the amp. He checked and found an updated amp from HK. I waited a few weeks and took it yesterday. He heard the issiue. Unfortunately the new amp has made zero difference. So either the amp he put in didn't have the fix, it's not the amp, or there is no fix. I have to say my dealer has been great but not sure where to go now?

I've heard or read somewhere that there is a software flash for the amp. I wish that HK would have helped a customer out when I contacted them about this issue. 😡

Mine had a software update and a new radio......still the same. You would think that somebody at GM would light a fire under somebody's *ss at HK.

Your update was probably for the radio and not the amp. What does your invoice say?
