The 2018 Buick Regal Sports Wagon (or Tour-X) will be at LEAST very similar to this...

UGLY, foreign built design, is the best way to describe it! My prediction is, it will not sell very well in the USA!

It won't make it to the states. It will stay in Europe as the Insignia.

Small and mid-size SUV's are taking over and wagons will be left by the wayside, i.e. Cadillac CTS and Acura TSX.

I like it. Would serve double duty for my outdoor interests as well as being fun to throw around a bit. But what will the options, price, etc be?

I don't want/need a SUV, and like the wagon or hatchback option. Right now one Volkswagon model and the Subaru Outback (V6) would fall into a price range and drive train I could live with. This would likely end up being the better of the three options, assuming it had at least the 2.0T .

I like it as well, but I bet it would be pricey with all wheel drive (granted they probably wont sell many so there may be some great dealer incentives) but I am highly doubtful it will come with a manual transmission. That was the reason I did not get the honda accord crosstour, it could have been had with a v6 but unlike the accord sedan and coupe no stick shift

Yes, it's coming to America and it WILL look different - but the general shape will be very similar. I think Buick's design touches in front, back and on the sides will make this an attractive vehicle for those who want a luxury wagon/hatchback type of vehicle...

Here's the [current] competition:

I think there's room in this segment for a new, dominant player. But if they're going to do it half-assed or charge more than the Audi Allroad, then don't bother.

What makes you think Buick would price it over the Audi Allroad? The Allroad has a HUGE following and a great reputation. It would be crazy for a new Buick to come along and be priced higher. There are quite a few nice wagons on that page, though. Thanks for posting it. Wagons aren't "for me" but I don't have any issue with them. Some of them look pretty nice. I think Buick needs to offer something that looks sporty but classy - has enough power that enthusiasts are happy to drive it - handles well but ultimately has a comfortable ride - and include lots of high tech features...

With AWD, based on the Regal's current pricing (thinking it would be comparable to a GS), I'd think the wagon would be in the $40k range. That's steep but at least less than the Audi. It has to be as good as the Audi to draw those buyers, otherwise they'll likely just stick with what they know (brand loyalty) even if it's at a premium. There's also the BMW option which starts around $35k, so if the Regal Wagon comes a front wheel drive it can't be higher than that. Entering a market almost certainly means undercutting the existing pricing.

Yes, they definitely need to undercut in the beginning. Give the loaded up Regals magnetic ride control to offer a soft, compliant ride but also hold the road with the best, V6 power as an option, all the high tech features competitors offer, all the creature comforts inside the car as well - and make it very pleasing to the eye. Buick designs, inside and out, are great - so I'm sure this Regal Wagon will look excellent. But it needs to perform well, be comfortable and priced low enough in the beginning for conquest sales...

About the only time I would need wagon-type cargo space would be taking both cats in their separate carriers to the vet at once, which is rare, or if my lady friend Miss Linda, her cat, and my two thuggish felines were all bugging out in the face of a hurricane, thankfully rarer still.

Still, I like it. And if I cared what other people thought about my car choices, I wouldn't have bought a Buick in '07 and another one (the Regal) in '14.

we are waiting to see it close up,our roadmaster estate is getting to old to push hard on so california's freeways. we have a cadillac DTS and a verano, maybe trade the verano it's a little small for 2 big guys and 3 large rough collies the tour x might even be a bit tight time will tell we had a buick rainer way too high for the dogs to jump into, had to give them a huge boost our little century special wagon was just right hope it has those dimentions

I like it and would buy one however I won't because it will probably cost $45k+

I test drove the Envision and liked it as well but they are charging so much for it.

Wait and buy a CPO, and save the extra $$$$.

I like the looks but I like wagons. Had a Mazda protege5 and a Pontiac vibe before the Lacrosse and now an edge. The utility is awesome. If it handles like the Mazda it would be a fun hot hatch that's a little grown up.
