Actually, premium is recommended for the stock tune a well.
Premium is always "recommended" ...but not req'd

Q: (Directed at vince or royhobbs or whomever can answer)
What kind of mpg can I expect with the tune? ON e85? on 93?
I'm in SE Mich and am considering getting the tune but the whole reason I got the car was mpg & fun factor. I'm logging 3000 miles/month and avg 27-28 overall on 87, all stock
Not really. Premium is typically a manufacturer recommendation for engines with higher-compression and forced induction (turbo- and super-charged). Running premium where the manufacturer does NOT recommend premium most likely will not be of much benefit but is not the case for where it is recommended.Premium is always "recommended" ...but not req'd

PS: When I drove as much as you, I bought a new 2003 VW Jetta TDI - after chipping it, the fuel economy actually improved! I averaged approximately 42 MPG the entire ownership of the vehicle. If I ever had to drive over 100 miles per day, I would certainly buy another...
No doubt. I meant with the amount of driving you do, I would highly recommend test driving a new turbo diesel the next time you go new car shopping. Since GM is going to be offering a diesel Cruze, maybe a diesel Regal might be in the future?42mpg’s would be sweet for sure but I didn’t buy a 30k+ car for it to sit in my driveway 5 days a week. Personal preference I guess.

Wow at that rate I might as well go back to a truck! Anyone else have mpg numbers?
WOW... thanks for that....I'm not one of those guys who thinks it's cool to see how high he can gets his mpg
WOW... thanks for that.
just because we go thru a shit ton of gas and we're a little concerned about mpg's!
Coming from an suv averaging 20, it's an important factor... Looks like 93 may be the way to go since e85 isn't much cheaper than regular right now.
About 30 cents difference for me last night. Hopefully all of the gas will will be out of the system by the time the tune arrives so that I'm just burning E85. Vince is shipping the cables this week from what I understand.
