What did you do to your Regal today?

I’ve been curious to try that stuff. I’ve been using the hybrid ceramic spray for about a year now and love the quick results.

Spent quite a few hours today using Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Quik Clay Kit on my Regal.
I was in the Shade as recommended, but the Wind sure was drying the Ceramic Detailer/Clay
before I could wipe it off with the included Microfiber Cloth.
Finally got it done and it looks great, the Metallic really stands out now!

I know there were a few small bump in the paint on the hood.
It seems to have cleared those small bumps off and didn't leave a mark.
I think there is about 1 more application left in the Ceramic Detailer and Clay Pad.
I'll save that for another time somewhere down the road.

I will advise you to not use it when it's windy.
Also, if it's hot, make sure you're in the shade.
Both Wind or a Hot Surface will cause the Ceramic Detailer/Clay to Dry Quickly
and become very sticky.
It's very hard to wipe off once it gets sticky!

I had more trouble with the Wind today than the Sun.
But the back of the car was in the sun, so I moved it into the shade once I was
finished with the front of the car!
Had to let the car sit in the shade for a while until the back end cooled down
before proceeding!

Over the last week and a half or so, the GS has gotten a K&N intake, Forge Recirculating Bypass Valve, 4H-Tech ZShift short throw kit and a Trifecta Elite tune. Car seems to be responding very well to the modifications thus far. 🙂

I did a late Spring cleaning!

I jacked up one side at a time and pulled off the wheels to rotate them and scrubbed the inner fender well and suspension/brakes. I used Westley's Bleche White on the plastic bits and a mild soap and soft bristle brush on the calipers. I try to do this once a year, and no the car does not get driven in snow. It is currently showing 59K with original brake pads and rear bearings.

I use the Mr Clean Magic Eraser on the rim barrels. I tend to get small bits of road tar that I have to flick off with my fingernail. The cleaning pad does the rest. The tires are on their last rotation and will need to be replaced this Spring. They have 30K on them and have held up pretty good although they are getting a little noisy now. Continental had redesigned this tire so I may go with that... or Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.

I think I might just be able to eat my dinner off of that Rim!
It sure does look nice, doubt mine will ever look like that!

Mine had already been used and abused by the time I purchased it.
It would take Hours and Hours to even get 1/10 as clean as yours.
I do drive my car in the Winter and it's not Garaged, although I don't
drive much in the winter anymore.

In my opinion these Regals are very good cars. I ordered mine brand new with every option except AWD. My wife would not go for the GS. After over 4 years owning it, I still enjoy it every time I get in it. Ours has not been in the snow and seldom in the rain. It is still like brand new. After about 1 year I put the GM accessory 10 spoke wheels on it.

Super LaX,
The Metallic Paints really stand out.
You can really see the Metal Flake in my Dark Sapphire Blue Metallic Paint!
Mine looks Black at certain angles, I bet yours does too?
I'm sure yours looks great in the Sunlight!

bugs, I would have loved to get a GS in Blue but it wasn't available as an option. I told myself I would NEVER buy another black car but this color has been a delight to maintain. The large metallic flake actually hides the dust and dirt between hand washes.

At certain angles the car almost looks dark gray. It is not very photogenic and has to be seen in person to be appreciated. And yes, it really pops in the sun.Raceway Park, Fall 15.webp

I was being pretty picky when I was out looking for a new car.
I didn't Want: Black, Gray, Silver, White or Red.
Seemed to me that almost every car on the road was one of these 5 colors these days.
Absolutely didn't want a Dark Color, harder to keep looking clean IMO!

Well, I ended up with a Dark Color anyway (Dark Sapphire Blue Metallic or Old Blue Eyes Metallic,
not sure which, guess they're the same GM Paint).
IMO, it isn't easy to keep clean either, even with that Metal Flake!
I think the color I liked most of the 2015 Colors was Copper Red Metallic (more of a Maroon Color).
It too was a very Dark Color!
The 2017 offered the Dark Cherry Metallic, I absolutely love that color, again a very Dark Color!
The Buick Regal Forum Member Malo83 has the 2017 Dark Cherry Metallic!

BTW, you picked a perfect shot, you can really see the Metal Flake in the Paint.
I agree, normally you can't see the Flake unless you're there in person!

I had a 2013 Regal before this 2016 and it was the black diamond paint. Basically a Cadillac color offered on the Buick. That had large flakes and it really popped in the sun. When we ordered our 2016 we went straight black, some thing I would not get sick of. A lot of nice colors out there.

Ken4,
I assume that's the paint on the 2013 Buick.
Sure is a lot of Flake!

I found out the other day from my son that GM will use the Same Paint
on Buick, Chevy and Cadillac.
But each (Buick, Chevy and Cadillac) will call it something different!
That's why I am having trouble finding the right Touch-Up Paint.
Buick calls it Dark Sapphire Blue Metallic.
One of the others (Chevy or Cadillac) called it Old Blue Eyes Metallic.
Most places it's showing up as Old Blue Eyes Metallic!
Anyway, I need to go with the Code G1M WA410Y instead of the color
they decide to list it as!

The picture I am showing is of a Cadillac, an extra cost paint job. The pictures I have of my 2013 do not show the metallic very well but that is exactly what it looks like. The flake is so large that you can just about feel it with your hand when you touch the paint. At some angles it looks all black and at other it looks silver-gray. Here is my 2013 and you can see the grayish color on the trunk lid above the tail light. I do not think they offered the Black Diamond after 2013. We were considering Dark Sapphire Blue Metallic but in the end went straight black. I had a 2014 Malibu that was black metallic (small flakes) so the metallic black had run its course with us. I have a Cadillac XTS that is deep adreatic blue metallic that is a nice blue that I like. But I did not order that car so one picks what they can live with when buying off the car lot stock, more or less.

It didn't look like a Regal, but I couldn't really tell what it was from that picture.
Yes, the Metal Flake does show up pretty well in that photo.
I'm sure the Photo didn't do it justice either!

I haven't really tried to get an Up close picture of my Paint.
Most of the pictures are I have are from a distance and you can't really see the Flake!
You sure can see the Flake when you're up close, especially in the sunlight.

I washed and waxed the GS this weekend. Loving Griot's Garage products, simple and very easy application and detailing process with great results.

Looks nice...18"?

I have not seen another set of these wheels in person. Probably because I am the only one stupid enough to pay $475 a wheel. LOL... I ordered this car and the only chrome wheels from the factory were the 7 wide spoke wheels for a $1000 so I bought it with the standard wheels and bought these at a later time. They do not charge the $50 core charge on a accessory wheel like they would on a factory supplied wheel. Center caps were about $20 each.
