What did you do to your Regal today?

Holding up well with only 11K on them, could be a little quieter.

Wow, they've certainly been driven gently...or have they? 😉

I suppose a relatively noisy ride goes along w those tires, but I bet they grip the hell out of the road!

I loved the grip and sidewall stiffness that the OEM Pirellis provided. But the more they wore down the louder they got. I managed close to 30K from my set with spirited driving. The tread wear rating was like 220 on those.

It was the first time I have had a Pirelli tire on any of my vehicles. I usually shop Michelin or Continental.

With moderately aggressive driving, how many miles can you expect out of those tires?

I snagged this bit of info off of google.

"The test track they use is a 400-mile loop for a total of 7,200 miles. If a tire is rated 100, it is expected to last as long as the test tire. A tire rated 200 will last twice as long, one rated 300 will last 3 times as long, and so on."

I've heard of stories of people burning through a set of Pirellis in about 12-15,000 miles. Of course it all depends on diligent rotation, proper tire pressure (20" = 38 psi), driving style, etc. YMMV

My general rule of thumb has been to use the treadwear rating and multiply by 100.
i.e, 300 = 30,000 miles and so on. Others may disagree.

Thanks for putting the specific science to the matter!

Changed the oil today. Mobil 1 5W-30 and an AC PF 64 oil filter. I was fun.

I was driving my wife's car to the shop the other day, and she was following in my Buick. It was the first time I got to check out the car from that view. I quickly decided that I did not like the tired yellowish DRL's. So I did some research, bought some Sylvania Zevo 6000K LED bulbs, and swapped them in. I have not been able to get a good pic yet(below is the best I could do), but they look GREAT compared to the stock bulbs. The car is dirty, but oh well.

For those looking to upgrade or just replace the DRL's, people recommended pliers with bent tips. I tried bare hands and pliers with no luck. I then remembered I had long hemostats with bent tips, and they worked perfectly.

I had one of those back in the day, but I didn't use it for replacing DRLs. 😏

BTW, I do like your Grill.

I replaced my DRL's about 8-9 months ago.
IMO they do look better.
I know mine were Sylvania, not sure if they were the Zevo or not, don't remember?

AI also replaced the Headlights with LED and the Fog Light too!
Boy do those LED Headlights make a difference.
Haven't driven in a Fog yet, so really haven't driven with the Fog Lights On.
The Headlights and Fog Lights were purchased on Ebay , the Bulbs were Auxito.
Even though the (Left) Picture was a Picture they supplied on the Auction, believe me, it's a true representation.
Picture on the Right is my Regal with the Led Headlights on.

Took my Regal out to the Buick Dealership today, it's been making a lot of clunking noises.
Haven't really been driving it much the last couple weeks because of this.
I also have them looking for an Oil Leak, it's been using a small amount of Oil.

My son called back already and they found the Oil Leak, it's around the Oil Pan.
Haven't heard anything back on the Clunking yet!
I do have an Aftermarket Warranty and Dan said they are a decent company, hopefully
they'll pay for everything with the exception of my Deductible.

They gave me a Loaner Car. The girl that set me up with the car said, we kept you in a Regal
to make it easier for you to drive, knowing where everything is located already!

It's a 2020 Buick Regal AWD, all Black. It is a nice car but I like the way the older Regals
wrapped around you, making you feel like you're in the cockpit of a plane!
The newer Regal reminds me more of a bigger luxury car!
I do like the Touchscreen a lot, feels and looks more like a Tablet, glossy screen, but it's tucked in so there isn't much glare coming off of the screen. Could have something to do with the dark tint on the windows too?
I don't have a very dark tint on the windows in my Regal!

Still can't figure out how to open that hatchback.
Don't see any Buttons inside the car.
There's No Latch on the Trunk lid like my 2015.
Nothing on the Remote either.
Gotta be something I'm missing somewhere?
BTW, I did try waving my foot under the rear end, didn't open that way either!
Oh well, probably won't have it that long anyway!
Just figured it out, You push the Emblem at either the Top or Bottom, it releases the Hatch!

bugspop1, I like the way your headlights and DRL's match(color). Since my upgrade, I noticed my headlights are a bit yellow compared to the DRL's... so I am guessing those will be upgraded soon too. I might as well do the fog lights while I am at it, although I barely use the fog lights.

The Sylvania Zevo bulbs have a larger heat sink than their standard LED bulbs(at least for the 7443's). They were only a few bucks more than the standard LED bulbs, so I figured why not. Not sure if they have any improvement over their standard LED bulbs.

MKz2017PremII, I think this was actually the first time I used these hemostats on a car. However, I never used them for their intended purpose. I previously used them to get to "hard to reach" electrical connections on a surface plasmon resonance piece of instrumentation that I used to work on.

I bought my LED Headlights and Fog Lights on Ebay and have been very Happy with them.
Auxito 9012 LED Headlights & Auxito 9145 9140 H10 LED Fog Lights
The Headlights are a snug fit in the Headlight compartment with the Fan and Driver, but they do fit
and yes, you can get the dust cover back on!

I know that those DRL's aren't easy to get to and the Clips that hold them in are very flimsy.
I assume my DRL's are just the Standard Sylvania , I saved the packages but they're in my Attic in a Box.
I got them on Clearance, just couldn't resists when I saw them at the price I paid for them.
I too agreed, they looked so dull and faded.

I have Saved everything I've replaced just in case I'd ever need them.
I have the:
Halogen Headlights
Halogen Fog Lights
DRL's
NG 2.0 HMI
Radio Module
USB/SD Card Reader
Puddle Lights or Ghost Shadow Lights
Pedal Covers

My regal is in getting worked on right now.
The Strut Mounts and the Struts are being replaced.
They are also fixing a couple of Oil Leaks .
This is all being covered under my Aftermarket Warranty with the exception of the Strut Mounts.
My son said this is going to cost me around $50 for the Strut Mounts.
All the work being done is between $2,700-$3,000.
I've got a 2020 Buick Regal to drive until Tuesday or Wednesday (whenever it's done)!
