What is your Fuel Consumption to date ?

I used a tire gauge to set my pressure. The DIC said they were 36 & according to my gauge, I'd say my DIC is spot on.

I filled up my wife's Encore last night. This tank was mostly highway miles. The DIC said 33.6 MPG. I calculated it to be 32.4 MPG.

I did a all highway computer reading on my 100 mile AWD Encore. The 114 mile run, two way average, was 39 mpg according to the car's computer at 60 mph. This compares to my Verano which gets 44 mpg on the same loop. The Verano sees 39 mpg on a tank so the brand new Encore AWD is seeing about 35 mpg for my work commute.

I'll post up some more demanding trips as it'll getting a working over in the hills of Lancaster, PA, in a few weeks.

Can't complain about this: 4th tank of gas.

View attachment 4059I'm almost through my 4th full tank and I'm averaging right at 33 mpg. I can get about 390 miles to a tank. My work commute is only 20 miles....but there lies no less than 19 stop lights along the way....might be 6 miles each way that speed limit allows me to get to 50 mph...so I'm thrilled with these mpg's. My GMC Envoy could barely push 260 miles on a few gallons larger tank with roughly 18 mpgs. So this is a jackpot for me...lol. What used to be filling up every 4-5 days is now 8-9!

My Rendezvous was getting about 23 MPG with the 85/15 driving I do. I would have to fuel up every four to four and a half days. I now go a week.

Just finished the first tank consisting of 118 mile round trip to work for a calculated 35.8 mpg. That's spectacular considering only 500 miles total. The trip was 60-65 mph and AWD on top of that!

This is the average of the sixth tank of gas - when will it end? It keeps getting better.

First tank…. (one month in) 19MPG, avg speed 22 MPH Not great, but better than the PT Cruiser it replaced 🙂

AWD - the suburb hills of Pittsburgh

I filled up my wife's Encore two days ago & it averaged 31.5 MPG while the DIC said 31.2 MPG. Are you guys filling the tank completely including the fuel filler neck? Once the gas station pump shuts off, I'm still able to add a full gallon after it automatically shuts off.

I live in New Jersey and we don't pump our own gas. I usually pay by credit card, and they don't top off after it shuts off the first time. If it were cash, they would add more to round it up. In general, the pump shuts off at 13 gallons, while the DIC says I have 20-30 miles left.

By the way, I just filled up today and averaged 34.2 mpg. I did a little more suburban driving with the seventh tank, as opposed to my 85% highway/15% suburban.

These numbers are looking pretty great. As I mentioned my city rating is 17 and my car falls well short of that. A true high-20's number is pretty super for city driving as far as I'm concerned 🙂

I should attempt to clarify my use of the term "city" as that can have many meanings. I could mean stop and go traffic in downtown Chicago, Boston, etc. I would NOT get that 27-28 mpg. My "city" is Brookfield, Wisconsin which is a suburb of Milwaukee. I rarely drive in rush hour traffic and the lowest speed limit is 30 with most roads at 35. Driving to church is some 35, some 45, some 40 with a half-dozen stop signs.

I had the chance to play in the 35, 45, and 50 mph zones watching upshifts to 5th and 6th gears. With no traffic up shifts to 5th were around 29 mph and 6th around 42 mph. Though watch the instant mpg showed little effect during an up shift and a 500 rpm drop. Even with hills of Lancaster, PA, you can hold a gear with the torque the 1.4 turbo makes. And great programming of the transmission. I'm really enjoying driving this automatic as I usually put the directness of the manual transmission.

I'm coming up on 2,000 miles break-in and seeing 32-33 mpg with maybe 40 miles of highway and the rest off highway driving from town-to-town on a tank. AC is on or off has little effect over the tankful. But she is pulling to the left hard on the highway. It'll pull from lane one of three over to lane two slowly. If in lane two it'll pull pretty hard to the left. Off to my "special alignment guy" next month. Highway cruise on a tank at 700 break-in miles was 37 mpg. That should improve with the latest mileage total.

Rioux, we're nearly identical on the mileage, congrats on the high numbers. I just can't believe this vehicle is doing literally at least 10% better than it's supposed to be. I really like mine.

mouseworks,
Yes, I'm happy of result !!!
