LOL. Driving home from work today, I was on a back road, hit the throttle, and after shifting, the car started a rhythmic stuttering. I tested a few more times... at partial throttle it was OK, but more than 40-50%, it stuttered. I was luckily only a few miles from home, so I took it easy. I had a spare set of spark plugs on hand, so I swapped them out, took the car out, still stuttering.
This time, the traction light came on, and the CEL started blinking. I immediately turned around, went home, and put the OBDII
scanner on it. It showed a misfire on bank 2. At this point, I spent a few hours online, calling, and driving to different shops, looking for an ignition coil. I finally found one at a Buick dealership about a half hour away. Using the wife's
Lincoln, I went and picked it up, and came home to swap it in.
I took the car back out, and it ran smooth as silk. I did a few semi-hard pulls, and it felt like the day I bought it. I have put a ton of miles on this car in the short amount of time that I have owned it, and it has treated me well. So glad to have it back up and running in short order!
