Best tires for your Regal

These were the two compromise non-ultra-performance all seasons that came up in my research. I ended up with the pirellis over shipping time concerns. I'm not sure they changed much between the Plus 2 and the Plus 3, but I wasn't going to pay the $150 extra for the privledge of finding out. Couple hundred miles in I like them so far.

Bridgestone Turanza quiettrack got installed in June on my MIL's lexus. Quiet and smooth are what she wants, and she's been very happy with them.

Thank you so much for your feedback, I’ll call my favorite local (a on national chain) tire store tomorrow to compare prices and see what they can get. I’m also considering plus sizing… that might limit or change my options

If you have a costco near you, that's where she purchased hers. At the time, they were running a sweet deal. Not sure if that's still the case.

A Costco just opened last year near me, but I’m not a member. Since it’s just me and my wife, we barely buy enough quantity of stuff to warrant one of those memberships. Plus, we haven’t walked into a store in ages, opting to do curbside. Alas, with the last kiddo almost halfway through college, the end is in sight and we are no longer saving like cheapskates…we can afford to pay more for convenience.

Finally, I’d rather give Walker Tire my business as it’s a local family run operation that changes tires like a pit crew.
Two guys go at unbolting and start unmounting. A third guy unbolts the next two tires and sets them near the first two. A 4th guy heads to the warehouse and comes back with new tires on a forklift. Two tire machines running in parallel while the third guy does the balancing. Then whoever is free bolts the tires to the car. If there is no line in front of me I’m in and out in 10 min. This is contrary to Tires Plus or any other place in town where they assign a guy that takes 30-45 minutes to change all 4 of your tires while fighting with 3 to 5 others for a limited number of tire machines. This place beats the big places in price and speed. I can’t even beat their prices buying online.

No matter what tire you get, upgrading to 255 45 18 size is a no brainer if using stock wheels on a TourX.

does anyone have pics of these wider tires in stock wheels. I’m tempted…need to decide soon. Tomorrow, I’m going to put my CTS wheels with Yokohamas onto the TourX to see if I notice any difference in road noise. If the noise is noticeable, I’ll probably stick to pirellis or Bridgestone in stock size. But if I like the noise and handling, I might go with Yokohamas with the wider tire.

Yeah, I totally get that.
The local Costco is about 3 miles from my home, and I used to drive enough to make it worthwhile before the work from home ordeal.
Comparing to other Top Tier gas, that alone was enough to pay for the membership and some for my use case back in the days.

Another thing to think about is as @saab93driver said, the warranty is nationwide for all Costco locations.

Lastly, they even have satisfaction guarantee for the membership!

Interesting story on the Costco warranty (which is where I bought my CrossClimates 2s at).

I had a shoulder puncture which rendered the tire unrepairable. Since I picked up the tire during a sale period, I had to pay the difference between the sale price and the current (non-promotion) price. Fortunately, the tire showed no signs of wear, therefore no proration adjustment was made.

Additionally, they also told me that tire could never be replaced again under the warranty. Technician said Costco was losing a ton of money through tire claims so Costco has tightened up their warranty policy. Now it's one replacement per tire. Total BS.

This will have me reconsidering future tire purchases through Costco.

Any business needs to make a profit and their margins are razor thin, passing the savings to the consumer. I/ve heard great things about that company, but until last year really didn’t have Costco as an option

The Cadillac wheels look pretty silly on the TourX. I called my tire place and it looks like the Pirelli’s will be about $200 cheaper than the Bridgestones, so I’m going to play it safe and go for the Pirellis rather than risk the noisier Yokes.

I think you’ll be really happy with the Pirellis. They are about as quiet as it can get. My friend has a set of P7 Plus 2 and he always remarks how quiet they are on the interstate.

Thanks for the pics. Those tires look awesome. Alas that size is significantly more expensive than the OEM size for the same Yokes. I’ll be enter tottering back and forth until I pull the trigger on Monday

Thats the line they used for the 59 Chevies look, compared to the wide track 59 Pontiacs.
