2020 Regal Sportback/TourX - What's New

I’m in the Boston area and Cars.com shows zero 2018 Essence models and 12 2019 models within 200 miles. Personally, I wouldn’t buy a leftover sitting outside on a lot for 1+ years. I’d rather pay more and get a brand new 2020. Plus it sounds cool, “I got a 20-20 Regal Tourx”.

Autotrader is showing 215 new 2018 Regals (all models) nationwide, and 1608 new 2019 model year units.

The real changes are: Locking fuel door no longer available and the new color of Satin Steel Metallic.
But look on the other side, the resale value should be higher since it is newer.

I meant the resell value of my 2018 😀

Really...locking fuel door no longer available? Where did you see that, on the Buick website?

They now include 2 zone climate control as standard on all trims, including base.

Of course they did... GM and auto HVAC system, are smarter then we are.

I bet if you found a 2018/2019 for 60% of MSRP out the door "new" with the options/color you wanted out of state, you might bite. I happily did.

$12,000 more?

Most of the used 2018's equipped like the Wife's car that I've seen online are advertised for more than what we paid for her's new.

Advertised asking price is not sell price.

But maybe the TourX is already a collector car? Yeah right.

Just got an update on my 2020. It is built and has a VIN. Now I just need to wait for the boat to sail!
Hopefully it does not need Teamster to truck it to the dealership. They are on strike with UAW.

What happened to the ST package that was supposed to be available on sportback/ gs

Sad to say I think you are right....I don't see the Regal surviving to 2021 unless there is a drastic turnaround in sales(not likely at all).
GM is not marketing that vehicle here in the SUV/crossover-crazed US. I believe that is a major contributor.
How many Outback ads have we seen?

The ST package shows up in the GM Order Guide for 2020. Suppose to include a blacked out grille, black wheels and a spoiler, but only for the Essence trim. The black grille option also shows up in the configurator on the Buick website, but only as a black grille option with no picture. It mentions coming in a package, but the ST package doesn't show up yet.

It will be interesting to see if the locking gas door is really gone for 2020, as all of the 2019's I've seen, both early and late builds, have had it.

I have a 2020 Regal on order as well, it has been built, Thursday August 29th 11:50 a.m., but is still sitting at 3450 status, so "Import vehicle produced" but awaiting shipment from port of origin.

@SS-Stealth, I thought they didn't get a VIN number until they hit stateside, i.e. status 3800, after import vehicle is received at port of entry? Do you know the status number on your build?
