Black intellilink screen

I tried pulling the radio fuse like I saw on a website. Nothing.
I pulled the glovebox thinking the HMI was there. Nope. Apparently, its behind the radio/climate controls.
I pulled some of the trim around the radio/climate controls area but couldn't figure out how to get it all off.
After an hour of tugging and pulling I stopped before I broke something.
I put it all back together and now the intellilink screen is working again.

Have a 2012 Verano and unfortunately I can tell you if your radios are displaying these kinds of issues or starting too, it's pretty much the end of the road for it anytime. Same exact problems I started with: black screen, icons disappearing, Bluetooth not responding, Navigation freezing intermittently, rebooting etc and over time got worse and worse until it completely died last week. Had the radio replaced last week at the cost of $1857 Canadian or $1400 USD . Sorry folks, but there's no repair or software update to fix. I had the latest software and exhausted every avenue to save me from getting a new one too no avail. Even called York electronics who GM outsources the radios for programming and purchasing. Nothing anyone can do but a whole new unit. Trust me on this!!!! GM should of put out a recall long time ago, but unfortunately won't happen like all the other major costly issues they dismiss.

I've had this happen to me a few times. the system goes away, I've also had it freeze up. it does go back to normal after a while but I have to shut to car off and wait a while. I've talked to the deal and they do not know what causes it. I really think it's software bug but I can't prove it.

I’ve had this same thing a few times. Took it to the dealership while it was still under warranty and of course it would t do it while I was there. Now my screen has been completely black for 4 days..

Update on the car, I took it to the dealer, paid $150.00 for an update and the radio works fine! Now I'm running into other electrical issues....

Same thing happened today to my 2017 Buick Encore. My screen went blank. Radio works and I can change channels just can’t see anything on it. Is there something I can do?

I took mine in for an update and it fixed it

i have 2014 buick verano and the screen went off the came back on then went off agasin and never came back on , but the radio still plays

also along with the black screen my battery goes dead over night ..
checking the fuses for key off battery drain i came across the 2 intellilink (10a and 30A)fuses both pulling power
so i had to pull those too...

and again is there a delete kit for this screen
or how easy is it to remove and replace myself...hopefully find a few to try at the local junk yard

Yesterday, I was driving and out of the blue the intellilink screen went black. I touched the power button and it came back on. Today(Sept. 17th), after returning from inside the mall, I started the vehicle and the screen was black. The radio would not come on. Turned the engine off and restarted the engine and the screen was still black. I drove to the dealer(about 10 miles) and the screen was still black. The service person phoned the radio service people and they have a radio. I will take it in on Thursday. I went out and started the car and radio was working. Shut the engine off and restarted the engine, and the radio is working. Is this a feature of this radio or is there something wrong with these radios. Software update???

That same exact thing just happened to me so I started searching if this was a common problem. I just finished make a recession with the dealership which is an hour and a half away from me and told them how disappointed I was. I only have 8000 miles on this and I’ve had so many little issues already

Hey I have a 2014 Buick Regal t and the screen says intelilink when I turn the car on then goes black and won’t come back on ? Blue tooth still works but none of the buttons work on the dash

My 2017 Encore did this today, radio comes on but I cannot control it with any buttons or turn it off. Then all of a sudden it comes on stating “COPYING FILES” AND “ WAITING FOR UPDATE MEDIA” I’ll see if it updates tomorrow, I have an appointment with the dealer on Monday.

Omg!!! That's the samething that happened to me...I've been trying to figure out what to do to fix the problem before going to the dealer...Any suggestions on what to do????

They haven't been here in over a year, after checking for a blown fuse, make an appointment.

Cant diagnose it over the internet, you have no choice other than to go back.
