Buick Regal Sports Tourer project

You need to consider also a new grill since Regal's grill is completely different from Opel/Vauxhall/Holden grills. Opel's ASS grill comes to close to $600.

I've tried to keep up with this thread the best I can, so I apologize in advance if this has been touched on. I just purchased and received the H&R 28717-6 springs but have two different part numbers marked on the front and rears. I saw a thread for the Regals about two different springs being in the sedan-specific kit, but I have not seen anything talked about in terms of actual spring P/N's received for the TourX. Any insight would be appreciated for those who have springs and can confirm I have the right stuff.

Update:

There are two front (axle 1) spring variants based on weight. For greater than 1100kg, the 28717-2 is used. The rear (axle 2) has five spring variants, apparently based on the model's drive type (2/4WD). Our car is #4 (IV) on a H&R PDF I was shown and therefore uses 28717-4. Problem solved.

No, the tourx is not wired for the front parking sensors. I transfered over my forward harness with foglight provisions on the chance that the aftermarket might come up with a kit for the GS bumper.

The shifter would be a simple swap, but it isn't really any different than the stock one other than the GS logo.
Hi RoRi,
Joined because of this thread. Have Euro connections so definitely turning my soon to be acquired Tourx back into an Insignia. Regarding the fogs. Are the harnesses are just hanging out in the GS bumper disconnected? Regarding the steering wheel cover, can it be easily separated from the airbag assembly?

Any new progress on this? Wanted to give the tread a little bump. Any luck with the gauge cluster swap?

There is a dedicated thread for it. Coding in additional information pages/themes to Guage Cluster

Several ppl have made the swap. I did it, It’s not difficult but not cheap. You get the cluster through this company or they will program one you send them. They are a sponsor here and
post sometimes. 2014-2020 Uplevel / GS Cluster Upgrade and Retrofit. - White Automotive & Media Services

Rori,
Your 20" GS wheels are 5x120 from what I have been researching. Our tourx is a 5x115. How are the fitment on the 120 gs wheels on the 115 tourx pattern? Unless my information I'm gathering is wrong. I ask because I'm looking for 20" gs wheels or 20" mmr wheels and the mmr wheels only come in a 5x120 more so designed for the camaro.

Will either fit my tourx?

There is a tons of info here:

Thanks. I thought rori had 20" gs wheels from an older regal but they are the 20" Astra GTC wheels so that explains the 5x115.

He has wheels from Astra J OPC, they are 5x115.

Could you humor me and try to install an 18" wheel from a TourX onto the front axle of the GS? I'm curious if the TourX wheels clear the GS brakes.
Yes they do, I fitted GS Brembo 4 Pot brakes to my TourX on the OEM 18" TourX wheels. We did a test fit on one of my mechanic's Astra GSI before we did the TourX brake upgrade / conversion. I since found out that a high spec Opel TourX (Insignia) has the Brembo's as a factory option....

You wouldnt have a parts list laying around would you?

I will have a crate coming over and have some of the parts if anyone is looking.. All the parts to convert and declad a TourX

Installed the GS steering wheel and all the controls work properly. This thread and all the advice saved the day. The thicker wheel is a pleasure to hold and feels right in the TRX.

@RoRi, or anyone who watches this thread who might be able to answer this question. Are the Brembo brakes from the GS unique to that model or is there a general Brembo part number that we can use as reference when searching for a used set?
