EXTENDABLE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR?

1. Thanks! I'll swap out the bulbs shortly.
2. Thats the key - you do this "every time". I think I did creased/cracked the edge of my liner, but since it was tucked behind/into the A-pillar liner, it was not visible. Unfortunately, I am one of those people that will dwell on that one little stain, or scratch, rattle, etc, especially since I spend a lot of time in my car (at least I used to before the COVID19 lockdown). So I'd rather not cause any cosmetic damage to my interior if I don't have to.
On a related note, right after I successfully swapped my visor, I tried to swap my rear wiper blade and promptly broken my wiper arm... This time, only a $20 mistake.
I had an A/V installer do it because I knew that they had the experience to not screw it up. Definitely worth the investment to me, because I would also fret the minor inperfection.

Found this forum while installing new extended visors in my 2019. Thank you for the thread! I have replaced many sunvisors over the years but the wire connection was a pita! On top of it, they clobbed epoxy over the connector while glueing it to the headliner, which added some challenges. My regal has the light colored interior, and the 2017 visors I ordered are a slightly darker shade. Not a big deal, but would have been nice for GM to install them in the first place!!!!

Any idea why they srltopped putting them in? Possible interference with the side curtain air bag?

Getting whupped on the noggin by the visor when the air bag goes off shouldn't be that much of an issue. I'm guessing (and we on this forum do a lot of that) that is was either a cost saving measure by GM or that Cadillac complained that the Buick's were getting too much good stuff...

I could see GM not wanting to install the nicer visor on a base model, but a car with an upper package including leather should definitely have them. Ridiculous IMO. But if that is the biggest problem I have with the car, I will be happy. Just installed a set of new rims with Goodyear snow tires, so will be ready if our winter gets back to normal!

The car has a curtain air bag it's not like it wouldn't hit you if it went off anyway. I have to move my head when I swing the visor over...so I still don't get why they wouldn't make it extend. It seems like an excuse. All these cats have curtain air bags as visors that move...except my wife's honda fit. They visors are useless unless the sun it just off the side of the windshield

Just finished swapping the visors over on my 2018 Regal GS. This thread was a big help so thanks to those who contributed.

The passenger side was pretty easy since there was some slack in the harness but the driver side was a little more of a pain.

Just to reiterate what was previously mentioned: the old visor has a felt liner over the attaching bracket. Simply poke a hole in it to access the retaining clip and use a pair of needle nose pliers to grab the clip as you pull down on the visor. It doesn't take much force if you do it properly.

The A-pillar cover comes off pretty easy, don't let that be what keeps you from doing this yourself. The hardest part is the wire harness connector and that isn't so bad as long as you are patient and have a good light you can squeeze in there. 20220506_235753.webp20220507_000141.webp20220506_235739.webp

Has anybody ever tried the TACvisor or equivalent? Wondering if something like that might help?

Thanks for the tips!

You've got the black GS interior like mine. What's the part number for the black visors, what model and year car, where did you order from, how much?

You need sunvisors from a 2014-2017 Buick Regal. Other models and the pre-facelift Regal may work but I do not know that for sure myself.

I don't remember paying quite that much for my set, shop around a bit and see if you can find a better deal. I think the PNs are posted in this thread somewhere.
