Well, my trunk has been open a few times and I swear I did not push the trunk button, but I obviously did unknowingly. Lucky, it did not rain in my trunk.

Sooooooooooo, now there is a bulletin out to have this issue fixed and it is covered by warranty. The fix is to replace the trunk relay. You will have to press your trunk key twice within three seconds to open the trunk. It is for both the fob and trunk button inside the car on the dash.

Just waiting for my part to arrive.

Hi, I have a 2013 verano and the trunk pops open as well. I was shocked at the range of the remote. I was home all day sunday and when I came out,the trunk was open. For some reason, I decided to see if the remote would open my trunk in my condo. I was shocked to find the trunk opened every time I pushed the remote button inside. It is a far distance and Iam going to mention this relay bulletin, when I take the car in on tues. Good looking out.

Do you have additional info on the TSB, such as is it for both 2012 1nd 2013 models?

Is the verano like the older buicks in that the trunk lid is so spring loaded that it goes up on its own when released? I really don't like that for this very reason. My LeSabre is like that. All my other cars the trunk just "pops" when released. It doesn't open up, just ajar. At least then if released accidentally no one would notice and if raining you don't have to worry.

I think to test the remote range I'd push the lock button. The lights will flash and you won't have to run down and close the trunk after seeing that it works 🙂

Yes, the Verano is spring loaded so the lid goes up about half way. I have read that if you have the spoiler on the trunk lid it does not go up that much. You can adjust the trunk lid springs so that it does not go up very far, but then a good gust of wind will take the lid up and you have the possibility of damage to the trunk lid and mounting units.

My 2 press within 3 seconds trunk relay is now installed and works perfectly.

Install took about 1 minute.
Pull down storage compartment and remove it. It is on left side of steering wheel.

Look inside and pinch both sides of the plastic fuse panel to allow fuse panel to pivot forward.

Lift up plastic lid on top to reveal three relays. Pull out the left one and put in the new one.

Done! 😀

Mine just did the same.

Verano4u, you have to give us the info on what part you used.

See post #4. It has all information there.

Here is a bit from the link with the part number

Replace the KR95B Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Relay with a “Two Shot Relay” (part number 19119267).

TIP: When the new relay is installed, the key fob trunk release button, the exterior rear compartment lid release switch (touch pad) or the interior rear compartment lid release switch must be pressed twice within three seconds to release the trunk.

Thanks! Informative blogs.

Where did you order the part?

Well, it has been two months since I had the new relay installed.

Works perfect! My trunk has not surprised me being open since the relay swap.
😀

I've had open a couple of times since the new relay. Whether I'm hitting it just right or the ring is at the correct length when it comes around and it lands right on the trunk button we'll never know.

Mine came open a few times had the new relay installed, but now every so often the trunk will not close, I have to press button twice then close the trunk the dealer is puzzled they also replaced the latch. anyone else have this problem?
