205,000 on my 1998, runs and shifts smoothly and floats on the highway. Just purchased for $300, can't complain at all.

My 99 only have 63,000. My dad's 92 has 278,000 on it. The only issues, is paint and the air struts in the rear. Still going strong.

Bought my 1995 LeSabre new, put almost 140K on it before I traded it in 8 years later on a minivan (BIG mistake). Still looked and ran like new, still miss that car. Someone out there is probably still driving it. Only routine maintenance & consumable items (replaced tires and brakes once). Plastic intake manifold connection cracked around 60K. That was about it.

Found my current ride (2004 LeSabre Limited) in February 2009, only had 17K miles on it. Now has 27K on it. Dealership had to replace both front wheel bearings under 30 day warranty (had been in minor accident prior to trade in, guess they tried to cheap their way out when fixing it). Front brake pads need replaced soon. Other than that, runs and rides great.

In between the LeSabres, put almost 90K on a 2000 Century. Only significant issue there was replacing the intake manifold gasket around 60K.

I just traded off a 2000 LeSabre Limited with 249,000+ miles. I bought a 2003 Limited Celebration with 80,000 miles and it now has 84,000 miles. The problem with the 2000 that prompted the trade was the pressure switch in the transmission. I was coming to the time for brake a rotor replacement time, and still had the original engine, transmission, starter, AC compressor, alternator. It also had all the stock front end and steering parts, and that to was starting to show so ware.

1993 limited...97800 miles going strong still but having major gas mileage problems.

64,000 on our 98 Lesabre Custom. Bought it last May with 55,000 miles on it. Price was $6000 got it for $5500 which seemed a bit high but the car was owned by some old folks, always garaged and in excellent shape in and out with everything working and paint in showroom condition. Even came with a compass on the dash. 😛
Of course a week after I bought it I had the dreaded upper intake/coolant problem ($900 repair).
Then we had a shuddering when taking off from a stop to fast (about half throttle or more). They replaced lower ball joints and links and did a front end alignment ($450) and that didn't solve the problem and created a new one (not happy, felt like I threw away $450). We don't normally take off fast so it does it rarely and I can live with that. But now it makes a clunking sound once and a while on the drivers side front mostly when turning or hitting a bump. They tell me it needs all new bushings up front now but have to wait till I have some extra cash for that so will just deal with it till then.
Then we had a gas line leak. ($100)
Other than that I've opened up the headlight housings to clean the whitish/hazy film from the inside, now they look like new.
Added some window vent visors. ($90.00)
Center console cup holder. ($10)
I just put new headlight bulbs (Sylvania Xtra Vision $25) and wipers (RainX Latitudes $36). Both a big improvement over stock.

Overall we love the car, it rides nice gets good gas mileage and keeps the miles off our 07 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. And now we don't have to use the Jeep in foul weather and it stays nice and clean in the garage only to be used on nice days, the main reason I bought the Buick. I drive a company van daily so the Buick is mainly the wifes daily driver. She likes it cuz I let her smoke in it but says its a Memere and Pepere (french for grandma and grandpa) car.

Hoping to get a couple 100,000 more miles out of it so it can pay for itself.
I will keep you all posted over the next 20 years.

😀

Previous Buick owned:
87 Buick Grand National 87-2001
Paid $17,600 new
Sold with 35,000 miles for $13,500

115k on my 2004. Needs plugs and wires bad. Hoping it warms up a bit here in NY enough to do it later this week.
Also have to do some suspension work. Have almost all my FE5 (Bonneville GXP handling package setup) conversion bits, just need a few minor things, then thats going in.
Just changed the oil (Mobil 1 syth all the way!) and had the trans flushed. The trans flush helped cure some of the chugging and "hunting", and it seems to be a lot smoother shifting now. Once I change the fuel filter, plugs and wires, I'm sure it will run much better (not that its really bad now, though).

I bought the 97 for all the short trips too. Paid $1300 for it. It has some quirks, but overall is a good car. I can run it into the ground and save the newer car for trips.

Plus it gets better mileage and cheaper to fix.

Also coming up on 177K.

Just turned 50,000 on our way to Florida. Had to re-build the tranny at 45,000.🙁 Our 92 Regal had 138,000 when I gave it to my daughter 3 years ago. Still on the road.

Hey all,
new to the forum.
I purchased my '97 LeSabre Limited this past late spring/early summer with 129k miles on it. It just turned over about 155k miles.
We bought it for $2500 (we thought: wow, good deal)
Have replaced all 4 struts, new front brakes, replaced front anti-sway bar, front ball joints, 4-wheel alignment...just had trans rebuilt for $1400 due to the leaky TCC valve and 4th gear slippage (rebuild has 3yr unlimited mileage warranty)
It still needs a new muffler (rusting out and leaking), and an a/c compressor clutch (noisy when disengaged) but otherwise a/c works well....and the heat/cold mixing actuator for the p/side auto-climate system isn't functioning...
It's a good car, and actually handles pretty well with new struts all around...not like my Impala or my sport-truck...but not bad for a gramps car 🙄

I used to own a '65 Buick Skylard 2dr hdtp 300 v8 2bbl, I was in the process of slowly restoring, but had to sell due to family $$ issues.
I also used to have an '83 Skylark Brougham with the 2.8l v6, had to sell that due to points/insurance$$ issues (rode motorcycle for the next couple years)

Matt

Have our 3rd and 4th LeSabre Limiteds now. 1st was an 88 that I drove from 19,000 up to 226,000 miles, then my parents took it and ran it up to 279,000. Original engine and transmission. 2nd was a 94 that we drove to 378,000. Engine replaced at about 200k and transmission rebuilt about 290k. The one I drive now is an 05 with 222,000 miles on it. Replaced front wheel bearings at a cost of about $250. Water pump will be replaced tomorrow and it shifts hard when hot which I have been told is a pressure control solenoid in the transmission. Our other LeSabre is a 2000 that we bought from a friend entering a nursing home with 23,000 miles on it when it was 7 years old. My wife is driving that one now and if my 05 ever wears out I will take the 2000 and run the miles up on that. I do industrial sales and put on 50,000+ miles/year between business and personal use. Every one of my LeSabres were/are great cars and the newer ones kept getting better. I wish they hadn't stopped building them.

My daughter bought her 89 this past summer with 183000 miles on it. We have put 4 new struts, and an alignment and a water pump on it. It is such a comfortable car, I sold my 03 VW Jetta and bought a 2002 Limited with 101000 miles on it. I have driven 2000 miles in the last 2 weeks since I got it (I usually drive about 1000 miles a month). I love these cars.

Sometime in the next month or two, I expect to hit 60,000 miles on mine...

Yes, my 1985 Buick LeSabre Limited Collector's Edition has under 60k 😀

i don't know if this counts but my dads 95 bonneville lasted 320,000 miles before he got rid of it and moved down to VA. dorve a blazer for 2 years before the spider fuel lines melted (damn gm plastic) and bought "perry" at about 112,00 mile. right now "perry" has about 163,000 miles right now. same engine as the bonneville, so i know the engine can last that long, lol.

153, 500 on my 1995 LeSabre. Sister gave it me to me. She was freaked when it hit 115,000 and had to buy a new car. I have had it for 2.5 years. New serp belt, brakes, tires the only thing beyond std maint. stuff. That is until last week when my radiator hairline cracked top outside plastic top cap. The JB Weld is a temp fix and holding great..but I need to get it replaced. Sad thing about this ride my sister in the 13 years she owned it never took it through a car wash and always topped washed it. Underbody was never washed. Net its got some rusting issues.

77,000 on our 2000 LeSabre Limited. Love the car, but currently have three windows non-operational. Just received a new regulator w/motor for drivers door. If works ok I'll order two more........really shoddy design on the window drive units. Very flimsy.

Nothing better than the 1991 lesabre they are so strong
