Noise from front passenger-side suspension...

have you taken out other new regals to see if they suffer from the same noise? just wondering...

Surprise surprise.... Prior to a 4 hour trip, I double checked the usual suspects (oil, coolant, washer fluid, tire pressure), to make sure I was good to go. Found the front right tire pressure was lower than the others by 4 pounds.

Apparently, the service departments "solution" was to deny they heard the noise, and lower the air pressure in the offending tire to make the tire soak up more of the "thump" to make it appear that it "fixed itself".

So when I put all four tires at 35 PSI, guess what? Thump-o-matic. Never been so disgusted with service departments in my life. Either fix the damn thing, or say you don't know. If you don't know, take my car, and rip it apart and fix the damn thing. Use your "gray matter" between your two ears and figure it out, THAT'S what you get paid to do, right?

**END RANT**

Driving to work this morning, I starting hearing this dreaded noise, and especially bad as I pulled into work. Has anyone had resolution to this yet? I would like to schedule a service appointment and if I can direct their attention somewhere specific it may help.

2012 Regal GS - 7800 miles

Thanks,
Matt

One day at the dealer so far and while they're clearly able to hear the noise, they haven't been able to isolate where it's coming from (at least as of last night).

They were also unaware of the nav screen issue with cold temps, which I thought from another thread was a known issue with these vehicles.

Either way, the dealer has been courteous and communicating well thus far. Just hoping they can find and fix the problem.

Well, picked my car back up today waiting for parts to arrive. Apparently the problem they have diagnosed is with the sway bar end links. They have also ordered a new bezel to fix the nav issues.

I'm not sure what else they did, but the noise was gone when I picked up the car even though they have stated they haven't replaced the end links yet... Either way, here's to hoping the parts come in next week, and I can be back to good before christmas!

I started hearing a new clunking sound from the right rear wheel of my LaCrosse when going over slight grade changes like driving over the transition when entering a parking lot. They did this for me...

REPLACE NOISY R/R SHOCK & CRACKED SWAY BAR LINK RETAINING CLIP

Silent ever since- good luck with your deal.

Thanks! yeah, I'm a little leery of the situation, as the car is now silent, even though they said they had to order parts.... I crawled under to look at the end links last night, and they looked ok, I wonder if they did a temporary fix until new ones arrive?

they did. however, I still notice a slight hollow noise when hitting "the right bumps" at the right speeds from the front right. The sound I was experiencing before was much more extreme and has gone away, and now I'm left with I believe what everyone else has been complaining about. I don't think it's something that would be easy to get a tech to hear.

You're left with what I have, exact same complaint. It is difficult to explain and hear on a tech test drive as you have to hit all the right bumps for anyone to hear. Since you have a helpful dealer, please keep the complaint going to reach a satisfactory fix. I would be most grateful!
I was thinking of unhooking the sway bar link and test it that way. Have you had the strut mount replaced? Thanks.

I have not. Seeing as the loud clunk was fixed, and I had been at the dealer about 4 times in the first month or 2 I had the vehicle, I was not up for any further visits. If I have any other maladies come up, I will have them look into this at that time. It's not quite annoying enough to warrant an independent visit... yet...

You guys will be amazed with this, I bought the 2013 model in Mexico and guess what? Same issue with the sound on the passenger side as described in this thread, even my wife noticed it.
There is only one version available in this country, made in Canada, Turbo 2L with 18" wheels. Unless they send previous models to be sold as 2013s (re-labeled!) I'm pretty surprised they haven't solved the problem, clearly a design flaw.
I'll start the (your) journey, wish me luck!

For all the people that had the issue with the noise from the right front passenger side when going over certain type of bumps, has there been a satisfactory fix for this problem? The motor mount replacement did absolutely nothing for the noise on my car. No one has commented on this common problem for awhile, so I was just wondering what was the current status? Mine still has that wobble sound and really ruins the car for me. Maybe changes on later 2012s and 2013s fixed the issue.

I stopped caring because my lease is almost up. But the only fix that appears to correct the issue is a new upper strut mount.

So glad i have found this forum im in the UK with a Vauxhall Insignia basically the same, and i have this almost loose sounding bump noise coming from my drivers side suspension which is passenger side on yours it has been in to vauxhall for top mounts sway bar links a whole new strut and spring and it still makes the noise the car only has 12k on the clock and vauxhall asure me everything is tight and fine its driving me up the wall ive also checked it over myself copper slipped brakes after seeing a few people complaining about loose pads but to no avail it must be a common fault maybe the postion of the gearbox and having a longer drive shaft on that side or steering rack problem?

Might also be worth mentioning I've also got the 20 inch wheels which isn't helping matters not so much over speed bumps but more over uneven roads smoothed off pumps or sharp pot holes up to about 40mph
