The way I’m reading the bulletin is that unit will be fixed as soon they understood what went wrong. So even if the car is no longer cover by the full coverage, they must replace it.Mine occasionally gives me the "Shift to Park" message as described above. And of course it's off basic warranty. What a PITA.
I came across the following info regarding lemon law stuff and apparently this is a really common on-going issue for many GM vehicles. So the article in this link isn't real helpful other than interesting reading regarding it being a common problem with GM.

Are you still not able to use the manual shifting? Have you resolved this issue?Found the flaw with the jumper harness fix for the shift to park. It fixed the problem for sure but I lost 'manual mode'. Today driving in the snow i popped it into manual mode to come down a hill and it didn't switch over.
So i fixed the shift to park annoyance with the jumper. But i lost my manual mode.
Merry Christmas to everyone.
Would "pursuing other angles" be replacing the shifter?Well, we got the StP message again yesterday, so in our case, that seems to not be the source of the problem… Will see how frequently it does it before pursuing other angles.
