The Ultimate Buick Regal Is Discontinued Discussion

I went to a dealer today as I was ready to buy a GS next week. He said all Regal production is stopped NOW ! Can anyone else confirm this sad fact. I thought it would run through the summer ?? Thanks,

This article from January, 2020 includes a statement from a Buick spokesperson:
"...
As you know we have ended production of the Regal and the Sport Touring package was cancelled knowing that was coming," company spokesperson Stuart Fowle told Motor1.com. "A small handful of them (literally single digits) were produced in the first half of 2019..."
2020 Buick Regal ST Appearance Package Is The Last Hurrah

It's been reported that Buick closed the order book quite some time ago and members on this forum had their orders cancelled.

See posts #75 and #79 near the top of this thread. Note that those posts were from early December, 2019.

I purchased my 2019 at this dealer and had a great experience. I know how hard these are to find (Essence, every option offered) so I wanted to share in case you're looking in the Midwest.
I think that I drove this actual car, but it was dealer listed as a 2020. Maybe the paperwork was off, but good deal overall.

Plainfield Ebony Twilight Metallic 2019 Buick Regal TourX: New Suv for Sale - K1039906
As an aside my wife's Terrain is "Ebony Twilight Metallic" and there isn't quite enough metallic in it for my taste. My wife was very irritated when I called it "extra-cost black".

My Opinion..26K is too much for a mid trim TourX that's used(even lightly used). Personally I wouldn't even do 23k..but that's me

There are deals to be had on 2019s..both mjoshi and I scored a fully loaded Essence for right at 30k. If you can get 11-12k off MSRP I think that's a heck of a deal for a NEW never titled 2019.

Thats great guys...Most 2019s I see are being shown on Cargurus at $36-37K and the fully loaded ones at $38-41K. You got these guys to come down to $30K? Thats sweet, any help would be appreciated on how that went down, etc etc... 30K sounds just right 36-41K is way too much no?

Looks like the days of finding a new TourX 30% or more off MSRP are gone and probably never to return.
You never know until the last ones are off the lot, but prices are currently up.
I consider myself sooooo lucky!

You probably have missed the boat during the year end sale around November and December.
I got mine in November for 33k-ish fully loaded, including the ridiculously overpriced "Illuminted front door sill plates" (Total MSRP $42,985).
Make sure you do search nationwide, because these are rare beauties.

Flyer came in mail for the wood stove today.

I ran a search lowest to highest price.

I wonder if these includes all incentives like the above and stuff like first responder or teacher?Capture.JPG
Just check for Rot Lot, mileage, was this a loaner, etc.

I bought my 2019 in August and there was a lot of money on the hood. Rebates+non-GM vehicle owner+dealer discount took my $39,500 Essence to $30,500.

20-30% discount off MSRP is typical for GM.

If this is the same one, that same dealer had this car before I bought my 2019 in March 2019. Same color and same trim; I didn’t want the glass roof, and it didn’t have DC 1&2. Can’t remember if it had the Bose radio or not. Anyway, if it is, and I’m 95% sure it is, I’d offer way lower than the advertised “special” price; it’s no doubt got a viral case of lot rot. Oh, if anyone here buys it, have them do a LCA swap on it before delivery.

Open a customer service ticket with Buick. My 2019 Regal was rear ended in October and the back ordered body panel was shipped to the repair shop months ahead of other people awaiting the same part. It still took longer than 3 months to get the car back but it probably would have dragged on for months.

I wish I had seen this earlier. As of last week my body shop has finally received the last of the parts and finished the welding. The car should be back to me some time in March which will make it nearly 5 months from the date of the accident. As soon as I get it back I will be selling it. I won't risk being without a car for such a long period of time again. In this case it didn't matter because the other driver's insurance company has paid for my 4+ month rental but if I were at fault or someone hit my car in a parking lot and ran, what would I do for 4-5 months?

I don't blame you after what you have been through. I am of the same mind on my 2011 - which I love. I simply cannot be without a vehicle for unknown periods of time for a minor part. It took weeks of squawking for someone to even get me a timetable on the parts. Buick eventually got involved and helped expedite the parts (which I do appreciate) - but no customer should have to go through the hoops and frustration that I did to get answers. Nor can I afford to just rent a car for weeks on end and be told to wait and be patient while I am without a work vehicle - and no answers on a part ETA,

In likelihood, I will move on later this year - which about a year or two sooner than wanted. Likely my last manual after a life of manuals too. :-(

I'm teaching my granddaughter how to drive a farm tractor. She is 9 years old. Her chances of driving a car with a manual is slim, so I want to pass on a nearly lost art of the clutch pedal.🦕

Wait until Hyundai releases the Sonata N-line, then you can test drive one for us and report back. See if the 8 speed dual clutch is worth a dang. :secret:

I drove a Genesis G70 3.3T AWD several weeks back and, other than a lack of back seat leg room, it was impressive. It is on the short list.

Hopefully it won't end up in class-action like the last one did.

I'm hopeful, I believe Hyundai/Kia's previous efforts in DCT have been dry clutch (7 speed) and this new unit is supposed to be wet clutch (8 speed). Honestly I still prefer conventional automatics or manual transmissions but those are going the way of the dodo bird.
