Tune.... IPF, Trifecta, HP Tuners

One of you software tuners should also step up and engineer us a solution to the crap shift knob these cars come with.

Perhaps something with a weighted knob (would make it nicer to use with the shirt shifter already available), and a pull-up collar style reverse lockout, instead of that stupid button on the front lime the auotragics use.

I'm just saying....

Oi, I don't understand why people are trying to knock either. I'm ecstatic that we now have more tuning companies paying attention to Buick in general. Both seem to be great companies; I having experience with Trifecta (have had great customer service), while IPF just hit the scene but seem to be a real stand-up company. I applaud you both, and it is good to see healthy competition. There should be no bashing or butt-hurt owners knocking either, for we are a small community and need to retain companies producing products for us.

I got an idea - each provide me a tune, I'll dyno each 😛 see who provides the most power 😎

I agree wierz- more than one provider sets up a competition meaning all parties trying to keep business search for tweaks and the benefit is on our side! Otherwise you'll have a monopoly an that's when service and performance upgrading slows down... I say let the battle continue ! However, I am very interested to hear what those with either tune have to say to aid in my decision making , so keep that info coming as I'm sure I'm not the only one in limbo right now . Thanks guys! 😎

So is it still a matter of the user needing a laptop with a specific operating system, and a cable to plug into the OBD port in order to get one of these canned tunes?

yes still need a laptop to do the tune but its not a real problem , for me i sit in my driveway installing it and browse the internet on wifi

and these tunes are no longer canned tunes they've been altered significantly than since last day when i first used it

McCheese, are you still switching between tunes? I'm back on IPFs after spending a week on Trifectas.

You could use any PC desktop or laptop running Windows XP, 7, 8 or 8.1. The computer does not need to be a laptop, our tuning module is the device to communicate between our server and your vehicle. An internet connection and windows based PC running XP or newer is all that is needed. Please let us know if you have any questions, happy to help.

nah im on trifectas - IPFs tune wasnt for me i liked it but the brief period i had it but i just could tell it wasnt for me

im keeping it using it when i get a new turbo

IPF - what is your satisfaction guarantee policy anyway

Whats the advantage of their tune on the new turbo?

Trifectas?

the cars an animal - nothing close to stock and lots of power low and mid range and strong highway speeds I personally believe this is the maximum power the stock turbo can have for reliable conditions the only thing holding it back is the transmission tune which im waiting for trifecta to get back to me with

Comparison between the two .. Eventually I will upgrade to a downpipe and IPFs is extremely easy to tune to adapt with new mods

They have several advantages in my opinion that make them a good option for those with plans to mod in the future. The biggest I can think of is that if you buy the tune for your vehicle, you have access to the server with ALL tunes for your vehicle, whether that's the "downpipe" tune, the "E85 tune", "intake tune" , etc... And as far as I know, this has no cost to you , but it simply allows you to "pick your poison" as you go. I think that's a pretty substantial benefit. I personally have not purchased any tune yet, but the fact I was able to speak with a person when I called was also a benefit. Just sayin! I'm still debating, but there are some good things that can be said for either company , it's just up to the customers.

Seems like they are more like COBB where they allow access to multiple maps once you buy the device. I like that model and transparency much better. It seems like Tribeca wants to charge more as you go.

Trifecta has a one time charge .. If say tomorrow I got a downpipe IPF I can tune for it immediately.. With Trifecta they need to send u a updated tune and Trifecta has transparency mode

If you add a downpipe to a Trifecta car now, I don't think they need to send you a new tune. They used to (I think) just to eliminate the CEL that you'd get, but now they have given that power to the end-user. Of course, if you change an intake setup and need a new MAF sensor transfer function or something, they need to tune for that.

Either BNR or Trifecta told me this... can't remember which.

I'm pretty sure it needs tuning. Something about the ECM in this car always try to adjust back to stock levels. With the down-pipe they should be able to run more timing so I would think it needs a tune.

We will send you a return shipping label and refund you for the module. 30 Day satisfaction guarantee.

Does IPF actually have all of these tunes included? E85 tune for a 2012-2013 Regal GS?

Are these tunes any good?

If they include an intake tune, whose intake is it for? If I have an injen intake, do they offer an injen intake tune? Do they adjust for the MAF changes that intakes need?

What does their E85 tune make in power?
