Sound System Issue

The sound company at my dealer that they deal with has agreed to replace the amp after reading this forum. The guy said he saw a newer amp from HK but it is back ordered. I have no idea if this new amp solves the problem..unless it is acknowledged by HK and GM. However, one person has had success with the new amp right?

Supposedly! Let us know if it works out for you.

I would be happy to look into this for you with your case number. Please contact me privately for more assistance. Thank you.

I think you are missing the big picture, this isn't a singular issue Tricia. This is affecting a bunch of people and yet most are getting the run around. If GM would take notice and push a fix for this, it could help many. Trying to single out a user here or user there isn't going to help "EVERYONE".

Again, the problem is the same for everyone, so a case by case basis is a waste of time. If the problem is solved for one vehicle, this could help "EVERYONE". I currently don't have a case open with Buick and don't have the time right now to do so. I can however see by helping one person get this resolved will help many in this community now and in the future b/c I am sure there are many more out there with this.

Hey guys, I just read thru the thread, and don't think I have this issue on my GS. Is this a Turbo-only issue? I thought they had the same stereo? I have Harmon Karden with nav.

Kind of monitoring this thread myself. It was driving me nuts on a trip the other day that I had to keep turning the volume down as it was getting annoyingly loud on its own. I have the H-K without nav.

As others have expressed, it is not worth a special dealer trip (I have no other issues) only to be told there is no fix. That being said, want to throw my hat in the ring so Buick and H-K know it is not a one-off item. If a fix comes about and is announced...I will be scheduling time with my own dealer too.

Amen to that. I have had my car in twice for this. The first time try updated the software, no change. Second time, updated again thinking it didn't take the first time, no change. I don't have time spend my days at the dealer waiting on them to fix it. One person had the amp changed and it seemed to work.

I would advise Tricia to help out and advise the dealers try this. If it works, great, if it doesn't, how worse off are we. I would think that's a good start Tricia.

Double Amen to this... I don't have time to waste, again on this... The service manager said he would research this issue and get back with me. Crickets is all I hear. I emailed links to the threads about this issue, nothing. My dealer was inattentive anyway. I bought my Regal, then brought my mom in three weeks later, she bought a Regal from my salesman. Not even a token $50 refereral (I'm not going to call and ask for it) not even a follow up to see if I'm enjoying the car, or thanks for bringing in your mom, she never got a follow up call either. My dealer kind of sucks... Just my opinion, but I also trade about every 3 years too, my wife's car too. I'll just go back to Sewell...

I have 2011 regal T06 with harmnon kardon. I met with the Regional Buick rep this morning after speaking with buick customer service for the past two months and having my car looked at by two dealerships. I have taken my car in a total of 9 different times to have the audio problem worked on. So here is the verdict from Buick.

After listening to the stereo he kept going back to its a cd problem. He states that ALL buick regals with this audio package have this problem. According to him its his job to compare like models (same audio setup) and reproduce the problem on another vehicle. Based on his finding with the other vehicle he states that is how the stereo is manufactured and there is no problem with my system. When asked if he would drive a car with the volume spiking when the base kicks in he became evasive and wouldnt give a yes or no anwer. He then backtracked and had no explanation to why if it was the cd only the volume spike occurs on XM,FM,cd,aux, usb inputs. Also a big way to go to the Tech guys and the dealership who clearly stated to me that their was a problem, but when talking to the regional guy stated it was normal for this audio system. My first new car in a long time and unfortunatly im stuck with a lemon. next step BBB and arbitration.

I already have an active case with the BBB, everyone on this site with this problem needs to do the same thing, if they cant or wont fix it, they can buy it back and we can spend our money somewhere else!

The BBB is a toothless generally worthless organization funded by the companies you're filing complaints against. If you think they're working for you, think again.

You may be right, but this is the next step in the process. I will keep you posted on how it turns out.

Wow! Looks like the GM mentality hasn't changed much since they were bailed out. This is bull in my opinion. This is definetly the first and last GM vehicle I will ever purchase.

If you want action I would recommend writing a few letters. Pick a few corporate officers and send a polite, professional, not too long, but firm letter and see what happens. I'd recommend Daniel F. Akerson, Mark L. Reuss, and Thomas G. Stephens.

That's a very good idea. The only thing I would stress is be professional and diplomatic as possible as Stereodude stated. Get your point across and pass it on.
