Sound System Issue

Stupid question..but would replacing the radio unit be different from replacing the AMP?

If they replaced the head unit in the dash, my guess is the AMP is located somewhere else (under the passenger seat, behind the glove box). I'm not 100% up to speed on where everything is in this vehicle yet but to answer your question, the AMP wouldn't have been the radio unit.

Stereo still has a mind of its own......dealers are clueless, and so is Buick customer service

Was finally able to duplicate today at my dealer. Still no literature or a tsb from GM. When will the new amps be available?

And they said?[/QUOTE

Sorry, they said they would check with GM and let me know if there's a fix when I bring it back to have the strut mount replaced........FINALLY!

We check the system for a TSB but none was found.

Hi guys, I'm spoke to the Harman engineers in the GM tech center last week. We root caused the problem being the software that is in the amplifier. They've ordered me a new amp and will install it next week. If the problem if fixed, I will convey the message to all of you. Thank you.

So where's this rumored fix? Maybe GM should stick with BOSE, never had a problem with any of my BOSE equipped cars. Maybe HK has realized it might cost too much.

Does this mean they aren't going to fix it? Did you tell them about the amp fix?

I watched the service manager check the computer for all open TSB's, nothing in the system regarding this issue. I'm guessing the only person who's gotten the rumored amp fix was Legandaryjarl. And I'm guessing he works near the Warren Tech Center, and has access to engineers. Unfortunately we don't. Hello Buick customer service.........we don't want a years worth of free oil changes, we just want our expensive audio system to function properly.

Hmmmm, to me, I understand your post as saying since there's no TSB they aren't going to replace anything?

I would think they could start with the AMP and go from there. I mean, it doesn't hurt to do everything they can to get your problem resolved. I can imagine your frustration at this point.

Good luck and keep up the good fight.

BUMP to keep this at the top and visible.

Still at the dealer, still no audio fix, and no Buick customer service in sight. Shouldve bought something else, from a manufacturer who cares about the customer. I am the customer who bought this 35k POS, instead of an Acura or a Lexus. I noticed the Regal sales for January were awful!

It's unfortunate but it can happen with any car manufacturer. Hopefully you will get it fixed and be able to enjoy your car one day.

Well, the dealer flashed the latest software update to my stereo, and its unchanged. Dealer told me that I was the first complaint of this issue to GM. This just ruins the car.
