TSB 19-NA-100 Radio Software Version 22.8 and TSB 19-NA-249 Favorites Grayed Out- Nov 4, 2019

Given that Yoyodyne Propulsion Systems was involved, I (briefly) hoped that the small hole in the Opel/Vauxhall front grille was used to mount the oscillating overthruster module (yet another feature GM left out of the US cars).

But in context, the last line on page 69 was:

"Here is a sample; alter the names:"

And for those left scratching your head...

I'm at the dealer right now for my 7,500 mile service. I told them that TSB 19-NA-249 also needs to be applied. At first they acted like they did not know what I was talking about, then they wanted to know how I knew about the TSB. So, that is not giving me a warm fuzzy about getting this issue fixed.

Run From That Dealer !

Well, they did end up updating me to 22.9. It's too early to tell if that will take care of the grayed-out favorites buttons or the occasional "Device Not Found" errors. But it has not solved my issue with the system unable to detect my 128GB USB 3.0 flash drive. It can find my two 64GB USB 3.0 drives, but for reasons unknown to everybody it does not like the 128GB drive.

Nope, they are all the same (FAT32). The aggravating part of this is the 128GB plays fine in my wife's 2013 Terrain. In many ways the software in her car is better than that in my 2019 Regal - with the exception that hers will not detect .FLAC files.

I had issues when formatted FAT32. Formatting NTFS fixed the majority of my problems. I still get the "device not found", just not as often.

On a road trip last weekend, I had a new 128GB SD card loaded up with music, but when I put the card in and went to play it, the stereo said "no device". This weekend I set about trying to figure out why that happened.

The card was formatted as NTFS, so I downloaded a utility to format in FAT32, reformatted the card and copied a couple of music files. Back in the car, it still said "no device". Thinking there might be some utility for formatting an SD card (don't know why I would think this feature would exist in a read-only stereo unit), I clicked the "More" button. On the device selection screen, I saw the SD card, but it was titled "SD1", where on the music home screen the device I was choosing was "SD". I selected SD1 and immediately had music. Back on the home screen, now I had in my recent devices, "SD" and "SD1".

So that was why I couldn't get to the music on my new SD card. Each SD card gets a new identity in the stereo. So I did a little additional testing. I reformatted the SD card as NTFS. Now I had an "SD2" that I was able to play music from. I formatted the card as ExFAT, which is the default in WIndows 10. I got no new SD device and wasn't able to play music from it.

So, on a 2019 Essence, with no S&S, and the storage ports with 2 USB+1 SD, I can read a 128GB SD card using FAT32 or NTFS, but not ExFAT.

Holy Crap! Thanks for posting that anachostic! That solves the issue I was having. It was so simple I am embarrassed that I did not try it.

I have two 64GB flash drives plugged into my two USB ports. They work just fine, but when I unplug either of them and plug in my 128GB flash I get the "No device found" message. I have plugged, unplugged and hit those USB buttons on the "Main" screen multiple times with no luck. This time I hit the "More" button, and then selected one of the USB buttons on that screen, and VOILA!! It worked this time! It never occurred to me to do that until you mentioned it. Somebody kick me!

The sad part of this story is the dealership had no clue about this. They couldn't figure it out either. They kept saying that there was something wrong with my flash drive. I knew that was a lie because that flash drive worked fine on my wife's car. Their excuse was that my wife's car had different software.

Had anyone gotten this update yet ota? My vehicle says no updates available.

I have a 2019 Regal Sportback and the only way to update the software was thru the dealership. They updated me to 22.9 in December.

What I REALLY want to know is:

Has anyone had an OTA Update?

Just had mine updated to 22.9 at the dealership. I asked them about OTA and they said the 22.9 files are too large to send OTA. The update took about and hour to download from the GM mothership to my car in the service bay.

22.9 was installed on mine by the dealer and fixed all of my console woes.

I had 22.9 installed at the dealer today and I still don't have speed limit values in the DIC. 🙄

No speed limit value in the DIC has happened to me once after 22.9 update - I noticed the Nav never finished loading - meaning even after driving for 10+ minutes, the Nav section of the home screen displayed "Navigation" and the loading bar moving from left to right but never finished. At a stop light I put the car in park, went to setting / running applications. and hit "stop" on Navigation. after clicking "ok" to the warning popup, the Nav app restarted automatically and normally - speed limit value restored. Not sure why Nav did not load that time - my only guess is I put the car in drive before it had time to finish loading. Has not reoccurred.

I just had the 22.9 update installed today and still no speed limit values in the DIC. I checked "navigation" and it showed my current location so it wasn't stuck loading as FishOhio was. So far, Bluetooth audio (music from iPhone 11 Pro) is working flawlessly, though. Before the update, it was almost unlistenable due to "stuttering" of the sound.

I had 22.9 installed today while I was in for an oil change. At first they called and told me it was ready. Got there and found out it hadn't been updated at all. Told them it should be on v. 22.9 and they tried again. I waited at the dealership for 1.5 hours before they said it was giving them trouble and they offered to bring me back to work. Took another hour and a half after that until it was ready. Now appears to be there - will see what the drive home tonight brings.
