- 2020 Sportback Essence AWD
Followup to CrossClimate 2 install last month.
In the cold (-10 to -15C, single digits F) on dry pavement, these things act like a regular all seasons in warm weather. They warm up/pressure up even at those temperatures and are very sure-footed at any (legal) speed. Quieter and track better than any winter tire I've ever had. As this is most of our typical winter driving, very impressed.
On icy snow covered roads the grip is still impressive. Feels like a true snow tire for the most part, except the AWD can seduce you into thinking its not as slippery as it really is. Even unplowed streets were no problem. Really liking these tires so far. Fuel economy seems no worse so far but its harder to tell in winter.
If I can get close to the mileage rating on these tires, i'll be buying them again.
