No worries. Came back to post the document number and see someone beat me to it. The dealer was as floored as I was on the resolution.Not saying I don't believe you... Just can't believe they would actually say that.
I just picked up a new 18 Regal GS and have the same issue.
I work in service at Buick and my technician contacted the Technical Assistance Center and was informed there is a software update supposed to be released next month to address the disappearing backup lines.

Who is it that you talk to? Of course my service adviser is clueless and had no idea about these updates. Maybe I can point them in the right direction.I called Technical Assistance and they are having issues with it passing software verification. The new ETA is mid March.
