biggest complaint about your LaCrosse

He does have two good points. One it is difficult to buckle three car seats in the back. Two it is a classy car. The Lucerne would have been a better choice for the seats. The Enclave would be even better.

Still I am sure they still like the car. It just goes to show that the Buick team has hit its mark with this car and the marketing.

My wife drives the tahoe.(absolutely no minivans in my household ever) I dont have the kids with me very often so the car does make since. The day I tried to put the car seats in the car to take the kids it was a pain so I posted it as a thought thats all

I was waiting for GM to make a good car for a lot of years. Most everything they made the last few years was just plain ugly.
The lacrosse was the car I had to have

I'm still not thrilled with the ventilated seats...

On cool days they seem to work great. On hot days, I can barely feel them, if at all.

The other day I was certain they were broken. It was about 80 degrees outside, the car had been parked, so I turned them on. I drove for an hour with them on the highest setting and my back was warm the entire time (I've got climate control set to like 72ish). You would think at some point over the course of an hour I'd feel it working- nope. I'm sure they worked better last summer. Then the following day (a cooler day), I try them again and they work pretty great and need to be turned down.

I have an upcoming service appointment and so I called the Buick man and had him add checking them to my work order. Yes, they kinda work, but not great, not even so-so on warm days.

Anyone have thoughts on how to get the most from them?

Be sure that there is nothing under the seat that could block the airflow because the seat fan just picks up the ambient air from the floor. There are vents under there from the HVAC so the temp of the air might depend on the HVAC settings also.
I've never had a problem with mine - hot or cold, they work great!

I'm thinking they aren't broken. This function is lame. It just sucks air through the pin holes. It doesn't blow anything. The benefit is creating circulation and helping your backsweat cool you a touch. You only feel it when the cabin is cool and you have some sweat but aren't terribly hot to begin with.

Since it doesn't blow cool air, if your cabin is hot the benefits of the seats just aren't strong enough to make a difference in how you feel. After the cabin cools if you are still sweaty they may help some.

My biggest dislike is lack of storage bins or very small storage bins. My honda ridgeline has tons of storage pockets etc. I guess they have every available space filled in this fine automobile.

I had a 2011 V6 rental and thought it needed bit more throttle responsiveness. But once the rpms were up it moved with ease. The front pillars are very big and the tire road noise was higher than my 2013 Verano with more than double the miles at 7,000. Even though the tires are the ssame size they could be just older and dryer.

I'll echo the no storage pockets around the shifter housing.

Drivers sunshade is too small (probably passengers too, but I don't use that one). Does not adequately block the sun when rotated to the door position.
I agree and this is a problem with ALL GM products.

The 6 speed tranny is the worst tranny GM ever built. They were once noted for the best tranny built but now in my opinion the worst. Always shifting up or down with a hesitation in each shift. When in manual mode downshifting is a joke. It speeds up before very very slowly slowing down then shift to next lower gear, it speeds up again before slowly slowing a tad more. You need to go from 6 to 3 to get any slowdown. The other biggy is the Nav. When using it EVERYTIME you start the car NOTHING works till it is done loading in 30 or 40 seconds. So you are on a trip stop for gas or a pop or lunch or potty break or more then one and you wait and wait. Why don't they set it to stay active for 30 min. then you can do most of the above. Plus they need to drive a Volt for a few days and use their computer for features. What do I mean. For example the Volt looks at the outside temp and depending on how cold turns on the heated seats on one of 3 settings and automatically turns it down as the inside warms up finally turning it off. Many features standard on Volt that should be used on the Buick. Another, hold unlock and all windows roll down. The drivers window switch has express up and down for all windows. Wake up Buick. You have a long ways to go to be a world class car.

My biggest complaint is the vinegar smell that comes from the AC vent. Had it in my 2010 (which was totalled) and again in my 2012.

2nd biggest complaint is the wide/thick pillars between the front windshield and the driver's side window (big due to airbags I guess). They quite often hide pedestrians and bicycles and you have to lean forward/side-to-side to spot them.

And my trunk opens by itself too! How strange, I had assumed I must be hitting the trunk open button on the fob, but I didn't think so.

It's a wonderful car thought, I'd buy it again, I love it. Hope they can answer my post on the Vinegar smell.

There is a fix for the trunk open issue, TSB PI0924 Part #19119267

Terrible gas mileage in V6. Averaging 23 mpg.

Vibration sound in dash. On my way to dealer in the morning.

Rear window is the size of my computer monitor. Come on Buick, seriously?

I am averaging 21 mpg with my V6 and I think that is pretty good, most of my driving is in the city.
It looks like the A Pillars will be narrower in the 2016 LaCrosse. The wide A Pillars do take some getting use to.
The fold back headrest in the 2014 & 2015 LaCrosse makes rear visibility much better.

While I like the look of the curved dash, my wife and I have hit our knees on it several times. I'm also annoyed by no trunk button in the glove box, especially since you have to take the key out of the ignition to use the fob button. Lastly, the DIC fuel mileage is the worst I've seen yet. My last car (Bonneville) was off by about 3/4 gallon too light, so it was usually about 1 MPG overestimated. The Buick is actually way worse. Thankfully it's on the positive side. So far it's at least 1.5 MPG underestimated. Last week I actually filled up with it saying 24.1, but when I filled up it calculated at 25.88.

I don't really get the issue of the big A-pillars unless people are stopping too far forward at intersections.

It's something you get used to but on a daily basis as I pulled a left turn at an intersection I would lean right so I could see around the A-pillar. I can easily lose a person or a motorcycle in there. It is a really big A-pillar. This was not an issue with my previous car (04 Maxima) and now that I've moved on from the LaCrosse I can tell you it feels a lot safer now that I have a standard size A-pillar. I think the LaCrosse problem is two-fold. 1) the A-pillar is large but also 2) you sit pretty far away from the windshield compared to other cars which just exacerbates the problem.

In any case, it's something you get used to and move on.

Terrible gas mileage in V6. Averaging 23 mpg.

That's terrible? I'll take that any day! In the last 2 months I have averaged 16.6475 mpg with the lowest in there being 15.43 mpg.
And this is on a 4cyl eAssist!

On a side note, I know something is wrong with the car but the dealer say's it's normal. (yeah right) Right now my DIC readout says 14.4 so we'll see what the real numbers are once I fill up again.

I did a reset of both Trip A and B and it now shows that I am averaging 23.7mph, combination of mostly city and some highway. I have now owned my car for 1year 7mo and 11,800 miles. As of this date everything is working properly. I replaced the OEM Good Year Eagles RS-A2 several months ago with the Pirelli Centurato P7 Plus and am still amazed with the transformation of the ride and quietness of the tires over the Good Year's.
The handling of this car has been simply outstanding. I have had to make an evasive move on several occasions and I never once felt that I did not have control of the car. The blind spot warning and crash avoidance have both proven to be features that were well worth the purchase. The back up camera is another great feature and the moving grid lines are far better than the fixed lines that you see on the rear cameras of some brands. If you are parked between two large vehicles that obstruct your sideview, when backing out into main traffic the camera gives you a great view of the street, allowing you to see what the large vehicles prevent you from seeing.
I just checked the production lead time for the 2016 LaCrosse and I am now seeing production down time dates. I would not be surprised if dealers are able to start taking orders soon with production starting late this fall but that is just my guess. I am still waiting to here from my dealer.
