I Removed the Plastic Cladding Trim on the Tourx

Lol... If it were me i'd have the side cladding flatted & painted Gloss body colour with plasti paint & fit the GSI bumpers & 9x20" wheels. that would give the wide body effect & look trick...

I've been told that both wrapping and/or painting the plastic cladding is not recommended. The plastic has a textured finish and would need a fair bit of work to get right. I agree though that the wide body looks great!

If anyone has the left and right cladding pieces that are on the front bumper (wheel arch area only) I'd like a set. I priced new ones and they want too much for them.

Get a good body shop to Flat the texture out of the plastic & paint gloss body colour & they will look great with a set of 20" wheels & H&R springs.....

I went to a well respected body shop to inquire about that. He didn't want the job because he couldn't guarantee the work would last. In his words the type of plastic the cladding is made of can still "out gas" causing the paint to eventually give way.

I'm looking for a set of the arch parts that are on the front bumper. I want to have them scanned and then 3D printed with a material that paint will last on. I'd also be able to make them thinner and more flush with the body and smooth texture. GM wants $125 per piece. Too expensive for something I want to prototype from and I'm not going to pull the parts off my car.

Yes the Oil in the plastic ( poly prop ) may bleed but a good plastic primer should cure that... Yours is a good idea to get 3D printer copies & paint them would work..

Well it took some patience, but I finally scored a lightly used (less than 20k miles) Regal Sportback front bumper assembly from a scrapyard. It’s my color (rioja), so provided the paint is decent, I may just get away with a driveway swap. Will take a bit to arrive given all the Covid-19 issues, but I will create a new thread on the swap once I get it started. As a bonus, it never had the front plate installed, so I will leave it that way and go to a tow hook mount plate (unfortunately our state requires one).

That's great! I have been watching junkyards and auctions for a rear-end wrecked black Sport Back. I'll be following your thread.

I spent some time checking fitment for the following parts and have basically assembled a shopping list for the front bumper and cladding. These parts will provide the same front bumper look as the Opel Insignia Sports Tourer.
I'm assuming some of the hardware like screws and retaining nuts are interchangeable so it can be reused. The bumper lower panel is the same on the Sportback and TourX, the only major part besides the grill that comes over to the new pieces.
Depending on the total costs, you might be able to get this all together for ~$800 (not including core charge on bumper).
If you put these parts together and see a mistake, please feel free to update and I'll edit the post.

Bumper Cover- 39159653
Front Molding Strip- Left- 39020289 Right- 39020290
Trim Bezels- Left- 39138751 Right- 39138752
Bezel Insert- Left- 13491269 Right- 13491272
Tow Eye Cap- 13491135
Looks right - please check this thread as many of us contributed some good info. I poured over the parts diagrams as well...and visited the dealer to look at a sportback bumper. So much car geek fun!

@Zaxer When disassembled, can you please verify that there indeed is no female tow hook receiver behind the pop out bumper tow cover?

Also, just curious, if your state requires a tow hook mount plate on all cars, what are you doing now with the TourX?

Sounds like a nice project ahead of you.

Will do - you raise a good point - if there is no tow hook receiver then I will have to figure something else out (maybe the “stow and show” option that flips up from the bottom)

My TourX already has the plate frame installed (the traditional way - it was already mounted on the center of the front bumper) - I should clarify that Wisconsin requires front plates.

Anxious to get this going...

I have seen another part needed to get the "authentic" Euro Sports Tourer look at the front end bumper. The part is called the OPC Line Lip. I am looking for a part number but have a picture from Adrian at BlitzParts. He also reference the OPC Line Lip with the INgo Noak Lip, found at this link:

Edit: blew up the pic and now I see the lower lip - the ingonoak version looks pretty aggressive. Quite a stance with the bags 😉

OK - so I have the spare sportback bumper now in my possession and can confirm - there is NO tow hook behind the tow hook cover. Behind the
foam is the active hood sensor line, which connects to sensors on either end. Don't be tempted to drill out that recess that would appear to be a tow hook - as you would likely hit a bullseye on the sensor line.

Dang, that looks terrific. Did it just pull off the fenders?

The front bumper looks a little weird, but I'd be tempted to just paint it (I'm looking for a white TourX).
Visited three body shops and one vinyl shop and each said no to either painting the moulding or wrapping it due to "stayablility" concerns.

I have the side skirts on the way and I plan on buying the bumper too
I'm new to this tread and looking to replace the front and rear bumpers with the euro version. Any suggestions on where to order as well as part numbers to complete the transformation and get rid of the USA cladding? anyone have a before and after photo(s)?

You will face a hard time converting externally US Regal to European Insignia. It is harder and harder to get parts for Regals in the USA.

Sometimes when looking for an OEM part online you may come across the word NLA in the description. What does this mean: The part is No Longer Available from the manufacturer. If no price is listed, it means the part’s NLA and there are many times a price is listed, it might not officially be NLA, but you can’t get it anymore from the manufacturer. Backorder (B/O) is when the part in question is not in stock. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, this problem is more prevalent.
