Sound System Issue

Oh no..... hope the Regal didn't leave you a sour taste for GM. GM still has a very good portfolio of products 🙂

I have the leather edition version of a 2013 verano but isn't my system Bose? It's the 9 speaker setup.

I do notice more bass at lower volumes but when I turn it up past 20 it gets quiter? And I turned off auto volume as well...

Yes, your system is Bose. The Regals we were talking about had the Harman Kardon. I don't know much about your sound system issue, but I've driven the Verano before and didn't notice any problems.

A guy posted on another forum that there was a service bulletin which calls for replacing the HK amplifier and it resolves the problem.

Bulletin Number: p10960

I'm going to call my dealer and see about getting this issue resolved. I'll post an update afterwards.

I believe I was the guy that posted that service bulletin.....lol

My HK seems to be free of the volume issue after the TSB amplifier replacement. The system sounds great!

I have a 2012 GS with Harman Kardon option. It is great but every time I get in the car I have to hit tone and then set the sound preference to HK from stereo. Why won't it just say set that way? How can I set it to stay?

Go to your dealership, ask them for the numerous updates that are to be performed on your radio. The one that fixes this problem specifically needs a disk.

What are the updates?

I received two updates to the system (unsure of what they actually did, possibly just firmware updates to the unit) but the disk update fixes the HK option switching after turning off the vehicle. I am going in this upcoming week for the update.

They had to perform the updates first before going to the disk to "follow warranty protocols" is what I was told. Makes sense, perform those little updates to see if it fixes the problem, if not, then get the disk (which is what ended up happening).

I've traded in my 2011 Regal Turbo last weekend, and bought myself a new 2014 Regal GS FWD. So far, I love the car. Although, I think the Bose system in the GS is not as good as the 2011 HK system, in my personal opinion. The HK system had a lot more bass and sound. Over all though, the car is a lot quicker than the turbo. Got mine with the driver confident package 1 and 2 😀

Hate to bring up an old topic but has anyone had their amp replaced and had it fixed the fluctuating volume problem? I had my amp replaced by the dealership and I'm still having the same issue. Was hoping someone that had it fixed had a copy of their work order with the part number of the amp they got. Any help would be appreciated as this amp is driving me crazy.

My amp was recently replaced because it was shorting out and making my screen go black with no radio, telephone or nav. I did not have the fluctuating volume problem though, so not sure if this helps you.

Do you happen to have a work order showing the amp part numebrr they put in your car?

I had my amp replaced as well. volume still changes...drives me nuts...and I feel like a speaker blew because of it...just driving and volume just blasted up!!

I am going to try and go to a different dealership with the hope that they will try harder to get it taken care of. I was hoping to find the part number of an amp that fixed the problem so I can try and have them order the right amp.
