My 86810236 from eBay did not work and cost a pretty penny.
Hence I am not too sure anymore. Shouldn't have cut the corner and wasted the coin via eBay.

BackBox Linux ... comes with tools to image a SD card or other storage. When you want to be absolutely sure you capture what's there without disturbing it, use the tools the pros use. No need to disturb your personal setup.

... dd with the right parameters worked fine, and used this (32g SD) copy from the get go...
Not sure why all the talk about files and etc. as a true image is independent of the file system...

There’s some speculation (I stress that word) that the SD serial number is also a part of the locking down the card equation.

If anyone with a working # 86810236 card would post or PM me the CId,
i'll compare it with mine: 035344574133324780c284cdb1016500 ...which i think reads as a SanDisk, serial 0xc284cdb1, made in 2022.

Apparently there are "CId changeable" SD cards available and my best guess at this point is that some of these sellers are using them to clone the original card CId.
If multiple cards are being sold with the same CId, or at least serial # from the CId, that would shine some light on this...

...worked despite our Regals not showing up on the compatability list,
but i'm not sure that's still going to be the case with these # 85618592 cards though the list is similar.

...anyways. the newest (?) # 85618592, still @ $99.99 but again on back-order, does work in our '18.

Just got mine from gmnavdisc.com and while it works, it is already outdated! Bloody hell!

How do I know? There is an interstate highway exit recently changed to the diverging diamond interchange design during construction season going into winter. That is not reflected on this map update.
(For those of you local in Motown, that is at I-75 & 12 Mile Road)

i dont know at the momment if works, im waiting the receptacle USB with SDcard reader for test it in a harman info3 radio.

i maked a dump of SDcard using Win32DiskImager and readed the CID with ubuntu

I can tell you that another card with identical dumped data as our working original from GMNavDisc,
but with CId: 5d5342303033324720134e0689016600
was rejected by our navigation system.

My head spun trying to figure out the verification scheme and i basically gave up trying.
I wouldn't even wager a guess on whether, or why, your card will work.

After all my efforts, i've come to believe:

until i not receive the usb receptacle with SDCard hole, i can't try my card. maybe buy a SDcard with custom CID in zelemar dot eu and test this card dumping the img in it. i will receive the receptacle the next week maybe.

in a first try, the folder vindata, has corrupted. but i restored the IMG onto the SD and working ok

i writed my SD image from ebay in a SD from smartsdcard.com

someone can confirm how number of files have in the folder \TelenavMapData\vinData ? .vin_check.data and md5manifest.txt ?

after insert the SD in the radio, should appears a message to enable the SD, but in my case i don see this message never... and seems in this folder appears a new file...

its strange...

'.vin_check.data' & 'md5manifest.txt' are correct,
although '.vin_check_debug.data' + an 'error' file may be added to that DIR by the system if it decides to reject the card as invalid
