Sound System Issue

Hi! In the last 30 days I took ownership of a new 2011 T07 manufactured in 02/11. Great car! Though I too am having the same issue with the volume in the sound system fluctuating. Very glad I found this thread. I thought I was losing it. Please post if anybody hears a solution for this issue.

Have you brought this to the attention of your local dealer? I would recommend contacting them as you should still be under warranty. Please keep me posted and contact me with any further questions. Thank you.

Tricia, Buick Customer Service.

I have a 2011 t07 that has the same issue. It goes in tomorrow, and I'm sure my incompetent dealer will not be able to duplicate.

I can replicate it by playing songs from my iPhone. Play the song "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele. It goes all over the place with the volume at a reasonably loud setting. It was suggested earlier in this thread.

I've never had this happen until I hooked up my iPhone. So it's an issue only with that for me at least, don't know if that's the same with everyone else (didn't read the whole thread).

Just got it back from the dealer, could not duplicate. That's their favorite thing to write when its a warranty concern. Oh well, off to lemon law! GM didnt care about my concerns, so they can buy it back.
😡

A stupid question but has anyone tried using the "high" setting as a way to make this better? I haven't because it doesn't seem logical but I will tonight - just wondering if others have,.
I've tried No Compensation, Low and Medium Compensation.

No compensation had really illogical ups and downs,

Medium compensation had too drastic of a sound level change, so I did not even try High Compensation...

Low seems to be my Least Annoying Setting for this issue.

Will they really buy it back based on your word alone and without the dealer verfiying a problem even exists? Just curious

Well, the law here in Indiana states that after four documented attempts to fix a defect, then a vehicle is subject to lemon law, in which the car company has a chance to respond after being notified that the vehicle is suspect. My car has been in three times and will be going on number four tomorrow at a different dealer, for the well documented front suspension noise, and twice for this radio defect. GM hasnt offered any repair or will even admit that there's a problem. Ive been told by Buick customer service and my dealer to just drive it until it gets worse. Well, thats not gonna happen!

There was a solution someone posted a while back about replacing the amp. Was that not something that was worth considering by others?

Dealer wont replace the amp because they wont admit the amp is defective. My dealer acts like im pulling ** it out of my * ss. Typical could not duplicate, which means drive it for a while you so we can drag our feet on a fix.

My Regal goes to the dealer next week for this issue. Will let you know the outcome.

Good luck, its awful funny that their are several people on here with the same isue, but GM seems clueless to a fix. Inexcusable!

They replaced the radio unit in my car yesterday. Truthfully I have not driven it enough to say whether the problem has been solved but in the little I did, with Auto Volume set to low, it didn't seem to be fixed. I turned Auto Volume Off and it did seem better. I will keep you posted.

Did you try what I suggested above?

I highly doubt Buick doesn't care, it's more than likely the dealer or the way you are handling the situation. Have you tried other dealers? My dealer wants me to bring in the car to figure out the issue but I can't b/c I have no other transportation. I think you may have a bad dealer or representative. Good luck and let us know if they do get it fixed.

So the dealer replaced my radio but the problem remains. I let them know who said they would pass on the info to GM Canada. What else can the dealer really do? There must be an issue with the software within the radio?

Shiveks, I've had the Harman engineer installed the new amp for me on Tuesday. The problem is fixed! No more volume variations in soft and loud parts of the songs I play. Overall, the sound system has better output as well. I've contacted the executive director of customer care. We will roll out the solution to all dealerships in the near future. I will keep you all posted. Thank you so much for your patience, and I apologize for any frustration the vehicle has caused.

The only thing that has seemed to fix the issue is replacing the AMP and that's stated earlier in this post.
