TSB 19-NA-100 Radio Software Version 22.8 and TSB 19-NA-249 Favorites Grayed Out- Nov 4, 2019

That's the one.
Awesome! Now I get to yell at my dealer to fix that, noisy strut mounts, wierd AC blower issues, peeling steering wheel trim, also need em to turn on the AC afterblow. We will see what they don't wanna fix and what the mess up under warranty haaaa...yeah 🙁

Got ours updated to 22.11 yesterday @ dealer
21.09.24.webp

I got the 22.10 update by SPS and backed up the USB update files.
Is that vehicle specific?
Anyway, it's here.

Warning: I'm not responsible for any damages caused. Format you usb drive with FAT32 and copy all files in the folder to the root of the drive.
Plug into your vehicle in park and follow the onscreen instruction.
(It may or may not work since I don't know if the update is locked to one vehicle, but I don't think they will do that...)

I also noticed that, after updating to 22.10 from 22.9, you can no longer use ADB to install any custom android app by enabling USB debugging in developer menu
(To enable hidden developer menu, click version number in about menu several times)

I have a usb-c to usb-a cable and a laptop with usb-c ports, so I can connect to the center console with ADB through USB connection. GM seems to lock the adb tool down to their GMAuth tools only. Well, the system is still based on Android 5.1.1
Was anyone ever able to get access to the latest (as of date of this post) 22.11 files and post here?

My red needle has had none of those bugs.
GM could screw up a wet dream.
Like no manual available on TourX, or even on their Chevy halo car.
Had to look back to see what this was 2 years ago, cant remember stuff anymore. Must be vapor or vaporware, but have remembered not to let them update car to H speed rated tires.

Hey, it looks like you know what you are doing a lot more then my dealer. I can not get them to update my 2019 Regal still operating on 21.1 with reboot dropped calls and other issues. Is this folder what they need? Thank you

The dealer can get the same files from the SPS (service program system). The files were uploaded here from another member so that you can install them yourself if you want to, with usual disclaimers. TSB 19-NA-100 Radio Software Version 22.8 and TSB 19-NA-249 Favorites Grayed Out- Nov 4, 2019

How many TSB's have they got for white needle software?
The same TSB number 19-NA-249 has been revised so I don't know how they count them as new a TSB or just a revision. TSBs I know of are 19-NA-249 and 21-NA-191. Mine has been updated 3 times since I bought it and working solid since 22.10 was installed almost a 1.5 years ago. I've not had the problem that calls for 22.11 to be installed so I've left it alone.

Maybe the usb flash drive you use as a capacity that is not supported by the system.

Finally got around to doing this myself this weekend. Relatively easy process, and while I need some more time behind the wheel to see if it fixed all my issues (namely random audio cutouts, flaky bluetooth, and calls over CarPlay causing the whole system to reboot), so far so good.

(I was still on 21.1, fwiw)

Another (very belated) thanks for posting this!

Good luck. While mine was more reliable after that update, I still have disappearing reverse lines, audio dropouts etc. I have a dealer appt this week for the latest update to fix the nav not starting, which has happend to me multiple times, and maybe I can get a resolution on the backup lines and other issues. Someone here I know had backup line issues after the 22.10 update and it was fixed ...but like everything else, it depends on how hard your dealer wants to work to actually fix it.

Has anyone had these problems with the older red needled vehicles?

I had the last version and sometimes the backup line disapear too. You just have to putt in neutral and back to reverse for reapear the backup line. The best thing to do it to let the infotainment start properly before engage to drive and most of the problem state will not occur.

Backup lines are not corrected with the latest software update.

Furthermore, the disappearing backup lines will never be corrected. GM is aware of this quirk, has a TSB for it, and their official solution is to wait at least 45 seconds and allow the operating system to fully boot. There will be no parts replacement or software coming to "fix" an issue that in GM's eyes is not an issue to begin with.

Sucks, but it is what it is.

Not that I’ve really seen, and it kind of makes me regret opting for a 2019. Despite preferring the look of the cluster and infotainment interface in the white needle models, having a reliable CarPlay experience would have taken priority. (FWIW, Still no issues for me since the update this weekend, but dtill too small of a sample size to say that it definitively fixed my audio/CarPlay issues).

Later "white needle" infotainment had its problems early on but 22.10 update fully addressed the problems I had when it was updated about 2 years ago. I'm not a CarPlay during every drive person but I've used it enough that the only issue I had was it wouldn't always connect, which turned out to be more of an IOS issue on mine and updating the phone fixed that.

And while maybe not as common old red needle infotainment isn't totally trouble free.

Yeah, I have 22.10 and it made things batter but didn't fix anything. And the 45 second rule haha, I've driven the car for an hour, put it in reverse and it still dropped the reverse lines. Such a joke. But don't feel bad, the loaner I have, a 2021 encore GS ST has infotainment bugs too. It supports wireless Android auto so that's how my phone has been connecting to it. But one time yesterday it connected, but the audio did not connect...the phone said it was playing from the phone speaker even though it wasn't, and the car said it was playing as well. Effin so bad. It's android, it's not rocket science.

With respect to the 45 second rule... this applies only at startup. If the car is put in gear before the system is booted, it doesn't matter how long the car has been on or driven after that, the lines will still disappear. I have never had the backup lines disappear when I have given the system ample time to boot. I'm not one of those people that like to throw it in gear the second the car has started, so maybe those that are constantly in a rush see it more often. One of those "YMMV" I suppose.

I do wonder how much of the infotainment bugs are the fault of the Google (or Apple) vs. the infotainment system itself. Seems like with every update to Android Auto, new bugs appear. Seems to be more cell phone and software related.

I had some flakiness with regard to reverse behavior last week when I was driving my wife's car. The passenger mirror is set up to "dip" when the car shifts into reverse to more easily facilitate parallel parking. I was backing out of a standard Target parking lot parking place and didn't notice that the mirror did not return to normal state until I was on the highway and tried to use the mirror to check prior to moving over a lane.

There must be something funky about reverse detection in the infotainment system.
