Buick Regal Sports Tourer project

Yes, they clear

Thanks for the reply. Do you know for sure if the mounting points are the same between the tourx and GS? I’m just wondering if the rotor size/position difference might have the caliper in a different spot on the GS versus the tourx.

According to this website

Buick Regal 2018 - Wheel & Tire Sizes, PCD, Offset and Rims specs

All Regal wheels share the same bolt pattern and very similar offset. 18in will clear the Brembos on the GS especially when it comes to OEM Buick wheels.

18in is actually perfect winter tire sizing because the 245-45R18 tires have exactly the same perimeter as the 245-40R19.

I didn't get Buick wheels, but got a set of cheap-and-not-cheerful wheels for my GS. That was the only set the shop had with 5x115 bolt pattern, fits pretty well. The shop did NOT recommend 5x114.3, FYI.

Drive safe in winter 🙂

Yes, the bumper cover has to be removed. It's not difficult. There's only one harness plug to unplug for the foglights and impact sensors. The hardest part is removing the old grill; there's about 2 dozen little clips that all have to be released.

Your wagon is kick ass man. New owner as of today and I have one quick question. I do not have ACC. Is there an Opel or Vauxhall (prefer Opel) front emblem that can replace the Buick emblem without having to replace the whole grill?

Do it correctly, or don't do it at all. I've seen people plop various badges over the Buick grill and it looks like complete crap IMO.

Does anyone know what those Wheels Weigh ?

Does the Buick badge separate from the grill easily? I have a friend with a 3D printer and could duplicate the size, etc and print in a different logo or anything else I want.

Fairly easily, you'll have to remove the plastic plate which covers the space between the front grille and the radiator--7 plastic rivets (use a small bladed screwdriver) and then you can see the back of the Buick emblem (and the top two tab clips that hold it on, the bottom two you can feel for). Press the top two tabs and push them towards the front, then likewise the bottom two & the emblem should come off.

Thank you for the reply. Looks easy peasy. I know the Euro Opel wagon emblem doesn't fit and looks to be much smaller but I wonder if an emblem from one of their vans could be modified to fit the back of the Buick emblem? The Opel emblems look bigger from pics on the German website as compared to the Opel wagon.

If your friend can design/make the front grill emblem, maybe make it lit like some of the the new 'cedes have. I think it looks cool, and guess many manufacturers will follow suit as LED's can be, and are, put so many places these days

I'm not sure if you can answer this, RoRI, but do you have any clue if it is possible to easily add a memory seat module to the standard Essence seats? Is the wiring there, ready to be hooked up? What sort of modifications would be required to make it so?
No, you couldn't easily add just the memory module to the seats. The harnesses are different, there's no power for the memory module, and the BCM won't recognize it anyways.
I have an Essence with S&S but not DC1. If I were to source a seat with memory seat (including harness) would it bolt in? How would remotes work, since I don't have a 1 and 2? Since personalized infotainment is also related to this, would I need my BCM flashed?

At this point, the lack of programmable seat is my biggest complaint about my car (I have fixed the visors and console tray).

I'm eventually going to upgrade the front brakes to the Brembo package. Just lines, rotors, calps? Pads of course.

Hi RoRi, thanks for walking us all through your project you've helped us all out a ton! I saw on one post that you had diagrams for the seat harness plug pins... do you mind sharing where you sourced those diagrams? I hope to find diagrams for the connection to the headlights. My 2018 regal came with halogen and I have led replacements but my current harness needs three more pins to match the led headlights but I need to know what type of inputs they should be... I appreciate any help you can give.

P.S. Maybe DarthAvocado can help 🙂IMG_0351.webp

Connector/Pin numbers:

Pinout (left headlight assembly) Code T4A is for halogen lights, T4L is LED:

You're missing CAN Bus inputs to the lights, and I'm guessing the car is missing the sensors in the front/rear for auto-leveling. I doubt the programming is there even if you try to add all the hardware.

Thanks a ton for the schematic sheet! it gives me a place to start. Do you have any diagram that says which pin the CAN Bus inputs are pulled from on the BCM? (Sorry, i'm not trying to get you to do all my homework for me). The car is a 2018 regal GS so it has the leveling input sensors. I'm going to talk to my local dealer to see about a possible reprogramming for the LED's.
